Ernie Miller Park & Nature Center - Nature preserve in Olathe - 909 North, KS-7, USA

Enjoyable trail and visitor center. Some of the trails are paved, and some are not. We liked the variety. The wild space is varied, and pretty. It's a long drive for us, but we will return many times.

Wonderful afternoon activity! Cool animals/reptiles to check out and beautiful paths to walk. Our favorite was the bird watching room though! We loved seeing all the different types at the feeders and using the book to find out what kind they were. 🐦 We even got to see the hawk and owl up close!! Highly recommend for families.

The park is such a beautiful area to walk around. The nature center was informative and the staff was kind.

Great nature hike, well shaded. I enjoyed the variety in the terrain and the wild nature of the brush surrounding the trail. I do think, however, more care could be given to the trail markings. An additional way to help navigate trails could be a QR code at one of the signs or near the education building.

I came here as a child, and was excited to bring my kids. Great indoor setting and info, and the outdoor nature hike/walk is amazing as well. PLEASE bring your kids or grandkids here.

Trail was in great condition and surprisingly not many bugs. Saw plenty of little fish while walking down in the creek which my son loved . Great trail for yourself and/or families.

2022 Update: the park is ready for those who don’t like mud. More trail have concrete. So if you are looking to go on nature trails, there are still some left. Still an awesome place to visit. You should see the fall colors soon. It’s like getting away in Olathe. They have made nice improvements to the nature center. There are now more paved trails, but the most fun trails are the dirt trails. We enjoy just spending time in some trees, as there are fewer and fewer places like this in JoCo.

I love this place! A variety of trails, a few a of them paved while others are beautiful paths in the woods, often crossing creeks and smaller streams. The visitor center is interesting, and the programs and events fun. I particularly love their Halloween story time at night. :)
