Ernesto's - Mexican restaurant in Prosper - 120 N Preston Rd, USA

Late lunch (or early diner) we were the only ones in the dining room Great flavor! Rice, refried beans, charro beans, chicken, enchiladas! All great! We will be returning! Ask for the spicy salsa to give yourself a great flavor kick with the chips! Our timing was perfect for up front parking!

Wonderful chips and hot sauce. Very friendly service. Unfortunately the two entrees we got were just so so. The tortilla soup was good enough with abundant tender chicken. The broth was too heavily tomato based rather than chicken broth based, my personal preference. It was pretty bland. The tortillas used in the chicken flautas were too thick. They overwhelmed the tasty chicken. We saw others people with entrees that looked very tempting.

Everything was great, the food portions are huge. Pacifico can feed two people and everything else tasted well. The only negative is the lighting, it's not very good, where we sat we couldn't even see the menu. Other areas were super bight and the light colors are mismatched.

If you’re considering just go lol this will be your new go to Mexican restaurant. I got Ernesto’s Platter (to try a little bit of a lot) and the chimichanga. Wow- I was so impressed, I didn’t really expect it to be as amazing as it was. The salsa was the only thing I didn’t like as much it was very roasted and the red salsa if I remember correctly was pretty watery and too tomato tasting, the chips were good. The nachos had beans , cheese and beaf of some sort and are to die for. The quesadillas and the flautas were yummy even though they are basic they were still flavorful. The stuffed jalapeños had a fried breading with chicken and cheese which was unique and yummy. The chimichanga cheese sauce was yummy (didn’t taste artificial) and had flavor. The avocado didn’t taste weird or artificial or flavorless. Online the platter says it doesn’t come with sour cream but I wish it did (would of been a nice dip for the flautas and quesadilla. It’s now a new favorite restaurant in rotation.

Absolutely a disgrace to call this place "fine Mexican food" nothing here is good. All microwaved premade food that's probably been sitting for hours, no idea how this place has this many good reviews. Guess all these people have never had actual Mexican food. To top it all off they have the unmitigated gall to charge high prices as if this was a fancy place with bomb food. All for some mediocre "Mexican" food. Don't waste your time. Drive up the street to Salsa Tex Mex for some decent Mexican food or Gloria's down the street for a better variety of Latin food.

Maybe had she spent less time on her phone and meeting the needs of her customers, she might have gotten a better tip. I could understand not getting a second visit from our waitress had it been busy, but there was maybe a total of 5 or six people in the entire restaurant. And the other waiter had them. She never came back for refills, or to see how our order was!! The food was fantastic! Just shocked over the wait staff.

Wifey surprised us with dinner / takeout earlier. The food was EXCELLENT. The meat was ALL seasoned beautifully, cooked to perfection, and full of flavor. The toppings were all fresh and made for some truly delicious / authentic tacos. A definite revisit for us all and unanimous 5-star votes from every member of the family (no easy task).

Family friendly local tex-mex restaurant! There’s a kids menu my preschoolers colored on, and the chips and salsa were to my liking! (Flavorful but not mouth on fire style) Chile relleno and the bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp were awesome! We will definitely be back!
