WOW! This place is loaded with some amazing items! Very difficult to decided what to get with so many options. Definitely make the stop to pick up some goods. Yes, there likely will be a line. The obvious indicator people like their stuff. They get ya through efficiently. Nice there is a public restroom to use. Bummer the deli was closed when we were there cause it looked like some great options!
It’s such a iconic spot in this little cute town. My husband and I drove back from Mammoth and stopped by this bakery. It surprised us when we walked in, I will say this place is a heaven of all types of cookies, pastries and breads. We got several different kinds of cookies and breads to go. The bread we got is their original Sheepherder bread. They also offer some samples, they all taste great!
Stumbled upon this gem by accident - the nighttime decorations were stunning! Went back for breakfast the next day, and oh my goodness! They have an endless selection of bread and pastries. Tried the original Sheepherder bread, butter brickle, and some pastries - all so fresh and delicious. Such a lovely and unique spot for breakfast! Thank you. 😊
Beloved by locals and visitors alike, this pastry and bakery is a must visit if you’re in town with plenty of parking space and dining area. The staff are always friendly. A clean bathroom is also available if that’s all you need. There are tons of baked varieties and pastries; coffee and ready made sandwiches. If you prefer made to order sandwiches, it is somewhat hidden behind the dips/sauce section. Be warned though, if you are looking for gluten-free something, they don’t have it/make it. Their mocha if you’re into that is a bit sweeter.
Erick Schat’s Butter Spritz cookies are what I always look forward to on a Bishop rock trip. I tried all their cookies and this flavor is definitely the best. Their chocolate covered coffee beans are another of my must-buys, and are especially perfect for those with less of a sweet tooth than me. Their Lemon Cream Cheese Cookies are excellent lemon cookies, with wonderfully sweet lemon icing, but I’m not sure I tasted any cream cheese at all. Their cheesecake is nothing too special, but is still better than the average supermarket cheesecake. The glazed donut I tried had an off-flavor. I wouldn’t recommend. The cranberry and white chocolate bread is stellar! For a heartier (less sweet) option, their energy loaf is a solid choice. Service was barely enough for the bakery to even be a business. I asked how much a certain pastry cost, and was told I would need to ask the cashier. Some of the staff are extremely nice and patient, but overall it’s a mixed bag.
Upon entry, you’re immediately going to smell the freshly baked bread. Not only do they have sweet pastries, they have the savory kinds too so it’s an ideal place for a meal. They do have outside seating, so it’s a good spot for people watching too. There’s a bunch to choose from, we grabbed a few, all of them were good and fresh.
The bakery boasts an extensive array of breads, making the experience incredibly enjoyable and the shop is bustling with energy. Due to the long line for sandwich orders, I opted for a ready-made sandwich instead, and it was still very delicious. There are tables outside the shop, allowing for a pleasant outdoor dining experience.
An absolute must stop whenever traveling through Bishop!! I always get a BBQ Turkey sandwich on a chili cheese bun, absolutely delicious and only $13.99 for a combo w chips and a drink The pastries are so good and affordable too! I stockpile the lemon cookies as well as getting a dozen donuts for the fam The staff is always friendly and helpful when deciding what to get!
Delicious food served with so much heart, you can taste the love in each pie! We got the lamb, the steak, the pork, and the egg and bacon breakfast pie. The meat pies were incredible. Do not skip these! I especially appreciate how they get their meat
Seriously good bakery! Great sour bread and tasty not overly sweet cookies. My new stop in and out Mammoth. No more amusement park crowds around the corner. The bagels were very good as well. Looking forward to having other menu itemsâ¦â¦ brea
Mary Jane and Mark, They are very friendly and helpful to travelers. From a wide selection, they taught me about weed in an easy-to-understand manner. I would love to go there again.
I purchased a couple pairs of socks off the website and the shipping was super fast. I love the socks. The personalized thank you card from the owner was a nice touch. Will be returning and recommend others to shop here. Support local businesses!
The owners greet you with a smile and you instantly know these are good people! Super clean place and perfect for when you are starving after a long hike because the portion size is excellent. We had the Surf and Turf burrito and the Burger with Mush
The road is jolting. Sharp rocks. Erosion ditches but drivable in a Kia soul. Such an amazing commentary on the state of our world. I was last here 30 years ago and the changes are not showing the trees looking more healthy. There's many more skeleta
My family and I have been going to Mule Days for 30+ years. The folks that run Mule Days are very friendly and helpful. I volunteered for them in 2022 and 2023 and loved every minute! They treat their volunteers like family. I will be volunteering ag
SO BEAUTIFUL!!! Every corner held another gem. Another lake. Another picturesque scene. I could hardly stop staring to remember to hike. It's California, so yes, there are lots of people. Let's be nice to each other and all have a great time in the
In my humble opinion, Manor Market is the best locally owned grocery store in the state. They purchase their products from the local farmers/ranchers, and the price is reasonable. The employees are friendly and give helpful advice/information.
There are no rooms. A tent or the open sky is your rooftop. In one word BEAUTIFUL! I went to Bishop California for some fishing in the mountains. Didn't catch anything but I did see some of the most beautiful landscape in our great country. The st
A Bishop treasure not to be missed. Absolutely delightful local bookstore with a lovely reading/play area for kids and a nice selection of locally made handmade crafts and cards. Wonderful staff, friendly and fun. New and used books, comfy arm chairs
Honestly, this is the best thrift store youâll ever find. The staff and clients who work there are the most incredible group of people-so friendly and happy. I love shopping here to support their mission. The prices are great, and they put out new
