Entrada Escalante Lodge - Guest house in Escalante - 480 West Main Street, Hwy 12, Box 427, USA

Lovely pet-friendly, cottage-feel hotel to stay at in Escalante. Wendy was a great host. It’s in a central location that’s walkable to a few restaurants across the street + the main “strip” of downtown Escalante, but tucked back enough from the main road that you don’t hear any road noise. I enjoyed the contactless check-in, & the little touches they had for my dog. The electric kettle, local coffee grounds, & pour-over/drip coffee maker was great to have in the morning. The beds are a little soft/squishy, but otherwise the place was cozy. The patio views were probably the best perk, especially at sunset!

What a great place! Beautiful rooms, wonderful furnishings, and art from the manager and his wife. Lovely evenings on the patio with a great view of the mountains.

We stayed at this little gem the beginning of July and it was wonderful. From all the little touches and details to the sculpture made on site by the mgr. The Bed and linens were sinfully soft and to sleep in the bed was the best we slept the whole trip. The only con of the place ,we didn't get to stay longer.

Great little boutique hotel. Room had all the little amenities that you could think of. Nice patio with a view and rocking chairs. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved this place! Wendy and Terry are fabulous hosts and made us and our dog feel right at home. The back patio with a view of the mesa was great to come 'home' to after exploring Escalante grand stairway hot spots. And two great restaurants directly across the street! You'd be crazy not to stay here.

We're outdoors adventurers, but not entirely. We like to break up our explorations with a civilized night part way through and recently chose Entrada Escalante for that break. The room layout was spacious, calm and peaceful. The walls are substantial--you won't hear your neighbors. The ductless heat pump worked silently and kept to precise temperature. The kitchen space offered a medium size "dorm" fridge, hot water pot, microwave and pour-over coffee flask with local VERY FRESH ground coffee. On the back patio there were rocking Adirondack chairs with little pull out foot supports. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. They also offered a washer/dryer which we used to get our hiking clothes ready to go out again and a basket of clean brown towels for messy adventure clean up. Within a walk there were three or four respectable places for lunch or dinner. We enjoyed our night there so much we texted the management to see if our room might be available a second night. Lucky us, it was! One of the management is an artist who builds bark strip and wood sculptures. They're really well done. But there's one horse, the shaggiest one... it has a certain presence about it. Some have said the horse has followed them around. We just felt it watching us.

The room was gorgeous, clean, and they had thought of every detail to keep guests comfortable. Self-check was a breeze and I loved that I could just arrive anytime after 3 and not worry about keeping them waiting. They provided a little basket of snacks and oatmeal which was so appreciated after long days hiking and driving. They had a small couch to sit on and fold up trays for eating takeout/leftovers on. They also provided plates, silverware, wine glasses, mugs with tea and coffee, and a mini fridge with freezer and microwave. They provided so many “extras”: extra towels if you needed to clean up yourselves or gear of mud, a small packet of bandaids and first aid things, laundry facilities with provided soap on site, USB charging on the lamps in the room, a heater in the bathroom so you’re not cold out of the shower. And finally, each room has a back porch that faces the Grand Staircase with a spectacular view! We would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit Grand Staircase-Escalante NM and we will be back!

Stayed here twice, Terry and Wendy think of everything a traveler might need. I highly recommend this place! It’s like home but better!
