Cactus Gardens RV Resort is an age qualified Encore Resort with 428 sites and 14 acres of fun and friendly people. Of our 428 sites, 158 are available for reservations. We have wide asphalt streets, gravel sites, concrete patios and a tree at most sites. All of this is located in a Yuma RV resort in Arizona with over 300 days of sunshine, near the mighty Colorado River and Imperial Dam. Yup, nearby fishing and boating in the middle of the desert.
Activity committees at Cactus Gardens RV Resort keep things active with numerous activities, including a Jam Session every week, Saturday Breakfast, Sunday Church Service, Wednesday Biscuits & Gravy, Bingo, Live Entertainment, Daily Pool Exercise, and Quilting & Crafts.
We have always enjoyed our stays at Cactus Gardens. The staff is friendly, helpful and provide personal communications when necessary. Being able to receive mail is a nice feature provided by the management. The pool and hot tub area is well maintained and clean. A Library and billiards tables on site is a great addition. Our site utilities all functioned as expected and without interruptions. Local stores nearby (Fry's, Walmart, ACE Hardware) make it easy to stay stocked up with groceries and anything else needed. Only 20 miles away is the friendly Mexican town of Los Algodones where quality dental work (Supreme Dental) can be obtained at a fraction of the USA prices. Highly suggest a meal and drinks at "Mi Casa" just a couple block walk south of the main shopping area. Passports are required for re-entry to the USA. Looking forward to our next visit at Cactus Gardens!
We stayed here in a 40' MH with tow. The initial site assignment was not adequate for our size/type rig. The Camp Host gladly came in on a Sunday to remedy the issue. We really enjoyed our stay this year and last and hope to return next year. Good job TT!
We'll this is a great place to stay, everything is well layed out and the staff is great. It was easy to relax there in the they have created. The location was nice and it was quiet there. Cactus Gardens was very very clean and organized. There was much to do there but I did not have the time to take advantage of all the activites on the calender, but there is plenty of stuff to do and something for everyone to get involved with should they choose to.
Staff was particularly unhelpful. It took 30 mins to get someone to take us you our site. Reserved a 30 amp and they gave me a 60 and was forced to buy adapter from them to get electric over two hours later. And it was hot too.
Pro's: Fair amount of space for rig and toad. Clean bathrooms, hot showers. Close to most stores in area. Gateway Park <10 miles from Resort. Spaces are clean, rock base with 3x8 approx cement pad. Hot tub and pool both heated to perfection.||Con's: toilet paper in men's bathroom continued to be out 3-4x per 2 week stay. Dog owners not picking up after their dogs....we'd pick up at least 6-10 of others poop daily. No body enforces the rules on their listing...the 10 MPH most obvious.
It's an older 55+ RV resort. Everyone is very nice and friendly. My husband and I enjoy the pool and hot tub. Lots of activities! The sites are close together, but most rigs are very nice and tidy. I give it a 4 star because the roads have a few potholes, and we're not able to gather mail/ packages on the weekends.
We stay at this property using our Thousand Trails membership when my husband has to have dental work in Los Algodones. Usually we stay for 2 - 3 days and the fee is included in our membership. The people that work here are just great. So helpful and wanting to share information and details, and they do a great job of keeping the park clean, overall. The park itself is very dated, and not kept up very well over the years, and it shows. We stay at an RV site and although the sites are level, they are very old and the cement pads are crumbling or in pretty bad shape, which can be a safety hazard. The dog park area is all sand, which is fine, but you must keep your dog on a leash as it has an opening to the main street the your dog can run out of. Other than that, we hooked up our trailer and spent three nights there, and all I can say is "it is what it is".
Wr have stayed at Cactus Gardens three times so far and will come back! The park is well maintained and the staff is helpful and friendly! We particularly enjoyed the pool and hot tub! The location is convenient to shopping, restaurants and downtown Yuma.
We were there during Covid. Nice park, however it is off of a main busy street. And just so you know military jets fly over quite often. Nice park, nice location.
Great restaurant, great chef, very good service. Friendly servers that are happy to help you with food selections. We had a fantastic fish and chips dinner. Daily specials. Full bar with cocktails and good selection of beers.
We had a party of 6 and made reservations over the phone a few days in advance. They do not serve food, but allow outside food in (but not drinks). So, we brought in a charcuterie board from Simply Boxed, here in Yuma. The beer selection is outstan
Bit hard to find, but well worth the visit. Fantastic food and wine. Get whatever the owner recommends. He's the expert. Reminded me of my best experiences in Italy
This was recommended to us by someone and we had to stop by. The food was delicious and the service was great. We will definitely be coming back to try the other things on their menu.
