If you’re looking for a cute little place to come have brunch, then Empire Café should be at the top of your list! The food was excellent, and the place had personality. I would definitely come back here and eat. Food: The food was excellent! I tried the chicken and waffles, and was not disappointed. The chicken was breaded lightly, and the waffles could’ve been a little crispier, but it wasn’t bad. I also complemented it with a tea! They had a selection of different teas you could order. Atmosphere: This is cute and offers a dine in experience where you order first at the counter and then your food is brought to you. They also had a selection of pastries that looked yummy! We also had a cinnamon roll, and it was delicious. Price: It was a fairly reasonable price for everything we ordered. I was definitely happy and didn’t feel underwhelmed like some places make me feel with the lack of quality of food. Parking: Parking is limited, but is worth finding a spot so you can eat here.
This place is amazing. I've eaten here 6 times now, all experiences have been top notch. The food is flavourful, well presented and rapidly served. The Cafe is clean and really well run, and there are plenty of tables inside and out. They have excellent coffee too!
Our food was the best part of the experience. I also like that they're brunch hours last later than most restaurants. My biggest complaint was the service. This was my first time going so I wasn't sure where to look at a menu because it is not the type of restaurant that seats You, You have to Wait in line and place your order after looking at the menu. When we walked in there were people standing in front of the sign that said menu so we did not see it when we walked up to the cash register I saw something that said Saturday entrees, I was guessing this might be the menu. When the young man came to the register I asked him for a menu he said they're over there when you first walk in but I guess I could give you one. I really wish he would have approach me differently he did not have a smile, he was not friendly, he wasn't joking he was very rude. I'd have rather been asked have I been here before, If not I can show you where the menus are and I'll be happy to help you. The other complaint I had was not having anybody to come ask if you need refills or anything you have to keep going in line I guess. That's the only 2 things I had to say. I too used to be in the service industry and I would have never told a customer the menus are over there but I guess I can help you. The first thing you should see at a place of business is a smiling face waiting to help you. Aside from these 2 incidents the food was wonderful outside was really quiet. Really nice setting.
We came during a lunch rush and had to wait for 15 minutes. There are laminated menus to look at while waiting. We ordered at the register and recieve a number which we then bring to any table. The food comes to the table and they take the number. If ordering a drink, you'll have to come back to the counter to pick it up. I had the 'Sugar Daddy' and it came with two shortbread(?) cookies. It was good and dipping the cookies enhanced the experience. The food came out fairly quickly. I had the Chicken and Waffle along with the French Toast, these aren't the menu names but they're at the top of the menu. The Chicken and Waffle came w some lime and syrup. It was very delicious. The waffles were on the softer side. The French Toast was very soft and moist which is more like a 4/5 for me. I prefer them to have a little more chewy structure. These felt very gooey. It came with strawberries and blueberries. There was complimentary water in the room next to the registers. Other notable stuff was the pastries on display. They have beautiful looking cakes on display and the slices that they give are fairly large and could be split between at least 3 people comfortably. I left feeling stuffed and satisfied.
I have loved coming to Empire café for many years. It's a fast casual café with excellent food, coffee, including pecan coffee, brunch, fresh juices, cocktails, and decadent desserts. My daughter loves the blackout chocolate cake. I love the harvest bowl for lunch, shakshuka (eggs baked in a spicy tomato sauce and feta) for breakfast or brunch.
I stumbled upon this place looking for Agora. Agora doesn’t have a food selection aside from bakery items so I thought why not try this place a block away. I loveeee the dim lights and candles lit in each table, jazz music playing very subtle. The atmosphere was soothing and enjoyable. The patio area was a more social setting for groups and families. They also have free WiFi. I gave this place a 4/5 bc the food wasn’t fresh or that good. I ordered the Alfredo, it was served in a soup dish which makes the portion look very small, the sauce had no real flavor, it taste as if it was all premade and warmed up in a pan and served. The presentation was nice though. I noticed they had an all day breakfast menu in which I would like to come back and try. Overall I would come back.
Food is always so good here. Got the largest size pizza with goat cheese, mozzarella, pepperoni, and mushrooms for $18. So worth it! I love that the slices are cut small and thin. It’s a very delicious pizza overall. My only complaint would be how packed and crowded it is - tables are very close together indoors. Goes to show how popular this place is! Plenty of outdoor seating though.
Got the breakfast tacos which has chorizo if you like that it would be a good option. Also got the breakfast sandwich with croissant which was great. They serve cocktails which was good. No waiters waiting on you. You have to catch them walking by. Cookies were blank and cinnamon roll was large and dry minimal glaze
