Great beach front property. Private pool with reserved parking. Beach access from the gated pool area. Rooms all have oceanview. We have seen a pod of dolphins swimming the sand bar every time we come here over the last 15 years.
The condo building as a whole is nice with certain condos have parking under roof. Ours was one, that was a big plus in the summer heat. Our suite was beautiful with beachy, but comfortable furniture and beds. The kitchen was really nice and well stocked with silver and cook wear. My only complaint would be the skillets had seen better days but worked if well greased. All bedrooms were spacious and comfy. I only wish the fitted sheet actually fit. It was old and stretched out so it rode up if you moved . The bathrooms were stocked well with towels and clean. We had a washer and a dryer that didn't work, but was supposed to be fixed. We stayed 2 weeks and that was very inconvenient, especially since we counted on a working one. There's plenty of books, cards and puzzles to keep everyone content.
My big complaint was, since we stayed 2 weeks it would have been ideal if they offered a weekly bed linen and bath towel exchange. All in all I would definitely rent this condo again. The beach is nice and the water clear. The sunsets are divine.
Pros:
- right on the shore
- balcony's view was awesome
- beach was uncrowded
- great area, lots of options for what to do (mini golf, boardwalk, boat rides, all sorts of restaurants).
- plenty of space and some nice amenities
Cons:
- mattress was so uncomfortable, my wife and I slept on the couch instead
- furniture was old in bedrooms, drawers wouldn't work
- called staff for assistance parking our second vehicle, guy who answered (Mark I think) was so so incredibly unhelpful. Told us to figure it out for ourselves. We're new to the area, obviously, do you think you could give us more specific advice?
- room was pretty dirty when we arrived (dust everywhere, windows super smudged, dead cockroach on the floor). Called to have it cleaned for us; when the cleaning crew arrived they were clearly annoyed.
Overall we would probably pick somewhere else if we ever come back. For the price I expected more.
This was my second visit to Emerald Isle. I rented unit 601 for this visit. The view was beautiful. The pool was wonderful and the beach well maintained. With that said, I was disappointed that the unit was very worn. For one example, a cupboard door fell off due to age. In addition, I filed a work order because the master bedroom cable box did not work. No one ever came to repair it. One parking space per unit can be a challenge. I can understand with all of the vacationers who have stayed in the unit over the years that things get worn but it’s time for an update in 601. If there is a way for me to find out which units have been updated I’ll spend some more time at Emerald Isle.

The room has an unpleasant odor. It smells like smoke despite being a nonsmoking room. The kitchen was fairly well stocked. The rooms on the south side of the building do not get sunset views, they are blocked.
I just arrived for a family vacation and as I’m lounging in my bedroom, the lights start to flicker every time someone uses the elevator. The more I looked the more I noticed things wrong. The sheets are disturbingly unclean and I found lots of hair upon arrival. Some pillow cases are stained beyond their original color and torn. I will be sleeping on top of my own blankets from home. The bed frames for the twin beds are poorly put together and can be rocked back and forth. There is a minimum temperature allowed in the room. The fan in the bedroom clicks loudly so you can’t sleep with it on. The beach is also presumably public access judging by the lack of space available on weekends.
We stayed in a lovely unit on the 4th floor (401) and have a review on VRBO for that specific unit, this review is for the condominium. The building although older has been well maintained and kept clean. It’s a smaller building with less units than some of the neighboring high rises which is great when it comes to findings spots on the beach. |The lobby and elevator was cleaned daily so you never saw a pileup of sand anywhere. The pool was well kept and clean - on the smaller side though, it was difficult to maintain social distancing in the setting of covid. |The pool bathrooms were exceptionally clean and I was very pleased to have such close access to a bathroom from the beach! |They have some limited covered area for parking and loading around back which was nice for when it rained, especially if unloading luggage or groceries! |We enjoyed our stay here!
Beautiful beach, great location. Stayed in condo 302 nice size for 3 couples. Stayed there 10/2020. Wanted to give the room one more chance. Needs updated ASAP! The Refrigerator crisper drawers are both broken. Dishwasher dirty, carpets very dirty. Could not use washer or dryer in unit as it was locked.
The complex 2nd floor washer and dryer did not spin.
Do not like that we have keys to get into the pool and back from the beach. We had a 3 BR with 3 couples received only 2 sets of keys. Asked for 3rd set, had to Uber back down keys did not work. Had to Uber back to the a 3rd set of keys that worked.

I went to this gym while on vacation, they offer an affordable week pass and the owner of this facility was very helpful. The gym itself has a good atmosphere and has everything one would need to get in a solid workout.

Let me preface this by saying this is all my opinion, but also working in the restaurant business for years I can see the obvious freshness.

What a wonderful gem! I booked this hotel on a whim, last minute after reading the great reviews and needless to say I was not disappointed. The level of service from a family run hotel and the staff was excellent. Chairs, umbrellas, and towels are p
