The service was very fast on what I thought would be a busy Sunday morning breakfast. I entered the lobby with 2 groups ahead of me and was told 10 minutes wait, but the nice lady searched the seating area & returned to seat each group ahead of me in booths and then ask me if I would take a table, which I agreed since I was in a hurry. On the way to a table she spotted a newly cleaned booth and seated me there.
My waitress (Brittani) dropped off a menu and returned within a minute or two with my water and I placed my order in record time without waiting after selecting my menu choice.
Food came quickly in about 5 minutes & was nice and hot and very delicious. The hash browns were much better than I expected.
I'll be sure to stop in on my next trip through town. A very quick & easy off & on the freeway since the restaurant borders the freeway at the on & off exits for both north & south bound directions. Plus quick stop for gas nearby.
Had a good experience here. Had the fish and chips, and it was very good. The decor needs some updating, but it was clean. The service was friendly and fast. They have a good size menu, so I will return to try out some other things. They have chicken and waffles. I will have this next time.
The Elmer's restaurant is your old fashioned feeling food spot. It has some unique foods and your traditional foods as well. Kids get a cool menu, and a super hero felt mask. Their is nothing special about the atmosphere at the Elmer's restaurant, it's meant to have lots of butts sitting and eating. The food is great, all the things you would want from a traditional sit down place like this.
I had the blueberry and banana crepes, and the Cascade Club probably my favorite sandwich.
Today I gave the Roseburg Elmer's another try. I had been disappointed in the past because the hash brown potatoes were anything but brown. I expressed to my server that I wished the potatoes to be crisp and the bacon crisp as well. The food arrived and the potatoes were brown about three mm on the surface and nearly raw between the veneer of cooked material.
They were, for me, uneatable. The bacon was flaccid, greasy and cold as were the eggs. Elmer's is primarily a breakfast spot and it seems reasonable to expect that they could successfully complete a plate of bacon and eggs as requested. This was not the case and I will seek nourishment elsewhere.
I ordered the Dutch Baby (German Pancake) with lingonberry butter and scrambled eggs and bacon.
The eggs and bacon came long before I got the pancake. Eggs were scrambled hard and were cool. The bacon was floppy and had the white fat that you don't want to eat. And it was very greasy.
The Dutch Baby came and was so cool that it would not even soften the lingonberry butter which was in hard globs. That lingonberry butter tasted so good with the Dutch Baby pancake that it almost redeemed this breakfast.
All of this food could have been delicious. If someone else had cooked it and if it was served hot, or even warm.
The Beer Battered fish was really good. The fish pieces you get are of a good size and the fries remind me of dinner fries.
The fish basically fell apart in your fingers and the breading was delicious with a nice crunch.
The salad is an add on option that I didn't get.
My mom said it was good.
The waitress was friendly and attentive.
We love this place. Always great food and service. We go here at least a couple times a month.
This restaurant had 3 1/2 stars on Yelp but that was not a good representation of the food. The staff was super friendly. I had the German pancake combo. So good. I had a side of syrup but didn't use it, the lemon, butter and powdered sugar was so good. My husband had the Potato Cakes. Those were also really tasty.
