Your experience here can go from basic to exquisite. Off season and I was still very impressed. We did not get to experience eveything in full bloom So peaceful and calm. There is literally something for everyone. There are an abundance of photographic opportunities. Walk, run, relax, grab a coffee, enjoy feeding ducks 😀 there is a lot to do even with the kiddos ! Also, there are a bunch of access points to get from one spot to another.
Oldest rose garden in the country and 3rd largest! Donated by a man with the last name Pond and named after his wife Elizabeth. The peak bloom on the roses occurs around Father’s Day in June each year. It’s still beautiful at other times as well. There’s a picturesque pond on the way to the roses and the perennial garden is next to the roses. There’s also a newer stage next to the pond. On the way into the parking lot for the rose garden is the Cafe . You need a reservation at the cafe. On the side of the parking lot is the visitor center which has an 8 minute video about the park’s history, gift shop, and bathrooms.
beautiful park! you can relax here for hours...the gift shop is lovely as well. we were able to come and visit during the peak of the rose garden! even with so many people in the park on a holiday weekend it was still quiet and peaceful
Wows, what a fantastic park! There's nothing to fault here. Very pretty grounds lake with ducks and swans. Trees and beautiful garden, roses, and exotic flowers. Visitor building work WC is truly amazing. New, clean, AC, water. The bathroom is amazing as good as some hotels. Bring your picnic stuff and chairs (lots of benches, but they fill up fast) and enjoy the views.
This park is beautiful and a must see if you are visiting or live in the area! The park is large and always has the most beautiful flowers. Late April is great if you want to see tulips. June is the time to go if you want to see the roses! The park is easy to walk around, has numerous benches, and has open areas if you want to have a picnic. There is a good amount of parking but it fills up quickly! Overall, one of the best places to go to!
An absolute gem of this place. A beautiful park surrounded by an equally beautiful neighborhood. It's well maintained and clean. I can't wait to come back to this place in a couple weeks to see all the bloomed flowers. Excellent spot for a walk or to have a picnic.
It's always a wonderful experience visiting this historic garden, especially when I can share the experience with another family or to celebrate a wedding! The roses peak in June, but year round it's a lovely place to walk around, let the kids see the flowers, visit the different areas, or have a picnic. The Pond House Cafe is a great venue for weddings, baby showers, and other events as well! *Note that paid photoshoots and weddings do require a permit to use the grounds in advance.
Wonderful place to see the roses in bloom. There are tulips earlier in the season, and plots of other plantings as well. Nice little gift shop too! A really nice place to visit and relax. A true treasure!

Whenever I need a card, birthday gift, or fun item, Hartford Prints is my first stop. Go there for fun t-shirts, hilarious cards, and high-quality gifts. Rory, the owner, is incredibly warm and a friend to all. This is an awesome shop!
We placed a decent sized order today and food was ready on time and we were greeted by Jerry and his staff right away. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. We look forward to ordering from here again very soon!
Saw the play Trouble in Mind. The play was fantastic. The theater was very clean, and the ushers polite and helpful. The lobby and concessions were very well organized. The parking was only $7. Amazing night.

Tried this place out because of the great reviews and I can definitely understand why now. The curried chicken was flavorful, tender, and tasted lighter (which I enjoyed) than some curries that are thicker and more oily so it was quite refreshing. Th
I have yet to try something I didn't like. I particularly love their lavender latte and banana bread, but all their baked goods are delicious and I love the combo of bakery and flower shop, it helps create a wonderful environment to sit and enjoy. Th
Love the carousel. Love the architecture of the towers and the beautiful capitol building. The playground is also very pretty and modeled after the capitol building. Good time for the kiddos.
