My wife and I enjoyed our dinner for the most part. The shrimp appetizer was great. My wife ordered the salmon, and it was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I ordered the veal. The veal was not so great. Good flavor, but definitely overlooked.

There's a reason they only handle reservations over the phone, and not in writing. I had a reservation in January for a concert across the street. When the concert was cancelled, the Eldridge (appearing gracious over the phone) agreed to cancel the reservation and provide a credit for any future date. However, when I tried to use the credit less than 8 months later, I was told that it had expired, and would only have been good on the date of the rescheduled concert (which I did not attend). This change in terms was not communicated to me at any point. If you cancel a reservation here, make sure to put the terms in writing, or you may fall victim to the same disingenuous customer service.

Very cute historic hotel that is haunted (very cool). Rooms are older and loud at night (52 db from AC at bed at night). So bring some ear plugs if that’s an issue. The catering at our event (hotel provided) was the best I’ve ever had. Overall a stellar experience.

I have been having breakfast after church a couple of times per month for the past 2 years. Went in today( 4/28/24) and ordered the griddle breakfast. It came out and looked way different. The pancake looked a strange dark color and the scrambled eggs were a strange pile that sort of shimmerd. Pancake tasted odd and I think the eggs were powdered. Asking the manager about my feelings and he said the chef was experimenting . How does anyone screw up eggs and pancakes. I did not eat the food and was charged full price anyway. I won’t be back!

We went for the valentines dinner. While the food was delicious, the service left a lot to be desired. We had to stop and catch the waitress to order our next courses. We weren't offered refills of water. We just kind of felt ignored. Then, we ordered our dessert and my husband received the wrong dessert. When letting one of the wait staff know, we were just informed it was wrong and recently ved no other information. No offer for the correct dessert, no explanation for why it was incorrect when we clearly saw other diners receiving the dessert he had ordered. Good food, but we won't be going back due to the service.

Today I just had the Shepherds Pie special! It was absolutely delicious! I loved the taste, texture and flavor. Chef Mark's creations are awesome, and this was no exception. I haven't had Shepherds Pie in awhile and this one was a real treat, especially with the fresh, perfectly seasoned fresh lamb! I'd recommend Everyone try it before it's gone!

Chicken Carbonara with Sticky Toffee Pudding Carrot Cake for dinner. Appetizer was the Buffalo Cauliflower. Sublime melding of flavors. Excellent service.

We are currently staying at the Eldridge, and I have been thinking about our last six or visits. We kind of “ fell in love “ with the property initially. The location is wonderful, the historic lobby charming. During our first visits we stayed in spacious suites, rooms facing the pretty street. However, today and the last several times we have had an interior room. The small window faces a brick wall. The bathroom is very crowded, with hardly enough room to get in bathtub because the toilet is there. The hotel is old, part of its charm. But, be aware! From now on we’ll only stay in selected rooms.
