Fast and very pleasant service.
Food was well prepared and quick.
This is a popular place at noon and for good reason. Popular Mexican style cuisine. Parking is limited. So, come during off-peak hours, if you can.
I left the restaurant xtremly pleased. Service was great and food was some of the best I've had. I ordered a chico size bowl of menudo. Damn it was good. Everything I order had fantastic flavor and nice size portions. This was a great place for Mexican. Real Mexican ... It's a keeper!
Enjoyed the combination plate with cheese enchilada, chicken taco, and Chile relleno which were excellent. Unfortunately the same can not be safe of the rice and beans.
Great customer service and amazing food.
Go here for the food (as it’s great) , not for the Ambiance. It’s like really eating in Mexico, probably because Mexico is about a mile away,,,, but you are in the USA, so all the authenticity but without the border crossing. Service was fast and friendly. Best of all, you get a lot of food (great food) for about $10.

El Zarape has had consistently great food for decades. If I'm in the area and craving a burrito, this I where I go. The parking lot is super small, if it's full you can park over at City Hall across the street.
Being close to Mexico, I was craving some authentic Mexican food, and this place definitely sufficed. I ordered the chicken gorditas, which came with a lot of pleasant surprises. For one, I was given a potato and cheese soup before my meal came out, which was very delicious and hearty. My food came out very quickly, before I was even able to finish the soup! My meal was well portioned with beans rice, as well as lettuce and other goodies with the gorditas. Overall, it was a very good, authentic meal at a reasonable price (including tip, I barely spent $10)
I went again, this time getting a bean burrito with rice. Again, I encountered good service and got a very satisfying meal for a very good price. The beans were a bit mushy, but other than that, everything was very good with the salsa and burrito being better than most
Packed, double parked, LOL, I had to wait to have the owner of the car behind me let me out! Locals love it, that's obvious. I got the huevos Mexicana, so so. Also got a cup of Menudo to go, that was some of the better I've had, I can recommend that. I think it's worth another visit just based on the clientele. Lunch or dinner I think. Prices are reasonable.
Parking, parking is key. Also brush up on my Spanish, it's obvious I'm mediocre at best.
My visit to this restaurant has been an outstanding experience. I hope I have the opportunity to return.

Classic ice cream parlor with delicious Mexican heritage treats! A sit-in diner area is available as well as outdoor tables, too! I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a quick getaway retreat!
A wonderful desert oasis with camping, boating, fishing, a beach and hiking trails. Great scenery combined with the surrounding hills and mountains. Only spent the afternoon but it looked like a great place to spend a week or more.
Beautiful small wetland preserve area with picnic tables, shelters, and little trails to explore. The area is also home to the SEEDS group who's working to create a permaculture garden community
Food was delicious and service was great, we celebrated my mother-in-lawâs birthday and they were very accommodating to our large party. Also food came out promptly we were pleased.
Great restaurant with a small-town flavor. Food varied and good. Service was fast. Fun to hear the mix of languages. Parking was a little difficult to come by.
Good pizza and fun games. Kids ate well, they love the games and the variety of them. Sitting area is far away enough to not be bombarded by the sounds of the arcade, but close enough to keep an eye on the children.
I donât usually review fast food but this crew deserves a shoutout. The staff were friendly and efficient. We got a chicken sandwich and hot honey biscuits. Both were really good. The biscuits were so good we went to other locations to get more.
