El Tapatio of Rock Falls - Mexican restaurant in Rock Falls - 1100 1st Ave, USA

Fun atmosphere! Wayyyyy overpriced ($25 for 1 person? For 3 tacos, guac, sour cream and rice milk). Not exactly fresh food, except for the tortilla chips and the shrimp in the taco. The pork taco meat is soggy and unflavored. The steak taco meat is hard. Food doesn't smell that good...idk, like...old lard. Tomato toppings have that sour smell/taste to them Decent amount of cilantro. The beans are runny. Good horchata/rice milk. The waiter/manager(?) wasn't very friendly - not rude, just not friendly. Overall... a big pass. But I'm spoiled from eating fantastic Mexican food in Chicago.

Love the food here! The Molcajeté is AMAZING and SO FILLING!!! The shrimp cocktail would be better without the tajin though...it was sweet, not savory.

Poor service, started to get waited on, then the inept waitress found somebody more important to wait on .. .I guess a long haired , bearded Gulf War Veteran isn't as important as a yuppie woman picking up her order, which pissed me off because I was there before her . .. . Needless to say, I'm not going back. My money isn't as good as a yuppie 's money. I should have gone to Burger King!

This place is pretty OK. The staff is pretty kind, but also very slow. Fortunately, there are chips to hold you off if you're starving. There are also lots of screaming children every time I go there, which you can hear over the people at your own table. Other than that, their food is very good, and they have many options.

I got the #4 combo with a carnita taco. Taco tasted stale and meat had no flavor, also it cost a dollar extra for carnita which the menu didn't mention but they took that off for me. Enchiladas were good and rice was basic. Food came out extra fast. The free chips and salsa was good, salsa was spicy just the way i like it. Will be returning and may update to give 5 stars, only left 4 because of that taco.

The food was great, except the flautas weren't as crispy as they are supposed to be. The rice and beans and hot sauce were Excellent! The service by our server was great! He was an attentive young man. 🙂👌🏽 One thing that wasn't great about thw service was this young chica server, who Wasn't ours but yet had the audacity to keep on very obviously Glaring at us whenever she made Sure to walk by our table... I used to be a waitress so it became obvious to me what she was doing and why by the third time out of at least 6 times, that she did this... Ive never teeated customers like this before, but ive seen it Many times: we were taking too long to wrap up our visit and finish the last of our food for her liking, so she was Trying to be subtle in letting us 'know' that she was waiting for ua to make our table available to new customers as the restaurant was getting pretty packed by this point... It surely is Terrible service though to Ever do that to paying customers that are actually still enjoying their food, drinks and their space while thwy have it! I wish I knew her name, but Ill just give her and her nasty, selfish attitude to God to take care of. She'll get herself caught up with that attitude with other customers most likely and hopefully get it fixed so she dont loose her job. Other than that, again, great place! 👌🏽😁

Good for the 1st visit. Quick. Efficient. Lacking salt. Will go back. They were awesome while being attached to a drove thru... full bar menu. I got the 4 types of enchilada and my hubs got a carnitas Verde...

Always love chicken enchiladas here! New decor, so bright. Server's are really friendly. Music is at the perfect listening level.
