El Reynaldo's - Featured Reviews (1138)
I went to El Reynaldos for dinner tonight and I got the steak quesadilla supreme and horchata. I got halfway through the first quesadilla I found a giant clump of hair with like 5 thick black hairs in it. I pulled out the clump and opened the quesadilla and there was a second clump about the same. There was so much hair that it felt intentional. I called in to let them know what I had found and they did not seem to care whatsoever. I have never found so much hair inside of my food. I will not be returning to El Reynaldos.
I am honestly very surprised at how high the rating is on this place. I am wondering if it is because this place is located in a gas station, most of the people who eat there and review it are used to lower quality food.
If you eat out at most Mexican restaurants around Colorado, it is incredibly easy to tell that the food from El Reynaldo's is inferior quality but priced similarly to its superior counterparts. I bought three rolled tacos with cheese & guac, a carnitas taco, carne asada taco, and a shredded beef taco.
Even just looking at the picture I posted, if you've had any good carnitas this one looks disgusting. It was thick, flavorless chunks and the meat looked old.
The asada was also large chunks, but somehow still managed to be dry and flavorless instead of juicy like it should be with chunks that size.
The rolled tacos were tiny with a very thin tortilla wrap and almost resembled frozen taquitos thrown in a deep fryer. There is also a pitiful amount of cheese and guac thrown onto the top, as illustrated by the second picture attached to this review.
The shredded beef taco was the only decent thing I had, but even the shell on this was thin and cheap. I think that it tasted better because it was deep-fried, so the oil gave the beef more flavor and texture than it would normally have.
Guacamole was ok but did not stand out in any way.
Don't waste your money on this place.
Too expensive for the food you get. The food itself is not so great. Meat dry. We got some enchiladas and sopes. We got our drinks from the gas station side..(cheaper). We'll not be back.
This place would be amazing if there was any type of consistency in the food prepared there. I get it's a small town and you are one of the only fast food spots in town, but when I order the same burrito almost every time I go there and it's always different tasting. This one had so much "liquid" in it I had a hard time calling a burrito and not a soup dumpling. If you don't want to cook food go work on cars or garden for a living. Hope this changes because tacos and burritos are my favorite food.
WARNING: when they make you the wrong food, and you don't know it till you get home...they WILL NOT make it right. 2 cheese enchiladas turned into 2 chicken enchiladas. I was told I had to go back TONIGHT to get this resolved, but I had been driving all day and this was NOT MY MISTAKE, I didn't want to go back out...they are the ones that should fix this mess, not me. An offer to fix their mistake after tonight, should have been offered. I'm a local, and I will share their unwillingness to resolve a simple issue, with others. I hope yall enjoy that $8...you won't get another cent.
The tacos featured in the picture are 2 fish tacos and a potato taco. Pretty simplistic and they are very delicious. The staff is always pretty nice and very upbeat. They can get busy and fast. The only thing is the eating area tends to have flies around the area every time I come into eat. But you better believe that I'm still going to destroy my tacos without fail. I live in Colorado Springs, but I do a route through the area for my job and this is the only taco place I stop by to eat at off of Highway 50. The price for the tacos are cheaper (around $1.95- $2.50 depending on what you order) And I'm always satisfied when I leave. I highly recommend coming here to grab a bite to eat whenever you're hungry.
The ladies are hard working and friendly and the food is so fresh. I was so happy to find this little place when I moved here recently. The food is yummy!
I eat here fairly often as a treat to myself, as a local the place is convenient with a drive thru. They do get busy fast, and sometimes the drive thru can take 10-15 min to get thru. the food is always hot, I have never had a messed up order, the amount of meat (steak, chicken or fish) in my items is always a hearty amount. the drive thru person always acknowledges me quickly when i pull up, and they are the only place I have found that hasn't gotten stingy with the salsa.
It was a very nice restaurant. The ambience was nice. The staff were courteous and willing to explain the dishes. They were happy to provide suggestions. The chips and salsa were fresh and tasted good. There was a good connection of items in the menu
Coach Solana was awesome. Great instructor/coach, positive, she pushes you when you feel like giving up. The gym was big & clean, well organized. Equipment was super nice and like new condition and the CrossFit athletes that are regulars there whe

Great 1.5 mile hike on the Royal Gorge Overlook Loop with just as good of views of the Royal Gorge as the park without the cost. The most scenic hike I've been on.
