El Rey Motel - Motel in Searchlight - , USA

One star because El Rey no longer exists. Closed down, locked up, shut, and for a long time.

Last minute trip for a overnight getaway we stayed here on 3/6/19. Lady was really nice and while this motel is older than most it is also a historic landmark! I slept like a baby and so did my kid's as it was very quiet! Clean and comfortable even has a small fridge and microwave! Not a 5 star hotel but definitely a 5 star rating from me.

Searchlight is a great place from which to explore the Mojave Preserve, even though a half hour drive away from some of the trails and a longer drive to the visitor center. It is a big preserve. This motel is inexpensive and quite comfortable. Room we stayed in had a nice little refrigerator with a real separate freezer compartment. Good for freezing water in plastic containers or gel packs for the picnic cooler. Bed was comfortable. Only minus was a note on the air conditioner advising not to change the temperature settings. WiFi was weak in our room, but we didn't come here in order to be glued to a screen. |There is a restaurant casino next door that was pretty good. Unfortunately the restaurant part closes at 9 pm on weeknights. Maybe later on weekends.

Very nice Motel. The woman as the front desk was helpful and friendly, the rooms were clean and stocked. Great rate of $50 and $5 tax always! One of our rooms had a fridge, and microwave, other had a fridge and fold out bed. Would stay here again, would highly recommend to friends!!

Gave it a 4 because of the price and Clean, friendly, AC works, very reasonable, old. We were on a motorcycle trip, tired, and hot we needed a place to stay. This is just what we needed a clean reasonable place to stay. The older lady who seemed to run the place was very helpful and friendly. No refrig but there was ice. I didn't watch TV but my buddy in the next room did use wifi. There is not much in Searchlight so we were glad to find this one. A McDonalds and gas station were close by. There was a fishing tournament starting the next day at Lake Mojave so good we checked in a little early. The rooms were quiet.

Searchlight - town with a population of a few hundred. Not much choice of lodging and we were leary of the El Rey Motel but we were just passing through and didn't want to stay in Vegas. We were driving a uHaul and pulling a trailer with our Model A on it. Problem #1 - where to park? Bill from the garage across the street came running over to see if we needed help, Marie from the office came out and said Bill maneuvers big boats all the time, and just like that the truck and trailer were taken care of. Problem #2? No more problems. Our room was as basic as they come but it was clean, the television worked, the bed was not the most comfortable but it didn't keep us up. It was quiet, the town restaurant was good, and we took a walk in the morning to find ourselves out of town and in the desert within blocks. How nice not to be in Vegas! Put your expectations in the right place and you will have a fine experience.

$44 for a room on a weekend and everything is old, somewhat dirty, and run down. Posted signs saying not to adjust the ac or it will freeze up for three hours, but the room was cold. BUT, the beds were clean and we slept fine and the manager is a nice lady. The other guest seemed to enjoy talking and saying hi and you can walk to either of two small casinos and places to eat. We actually enjoyed staying there regardless and I would stay there again.||There is an awesome tree covered city park (ask for directions) that the dogs liked.|| I recommend Terrible's Roadside Casino. Full menu, not expensive, good food.

I love this place! The hospitality their is top notch!!! Rooms are clean, you get free ice, a bag a day per room, television in each room. It's not the far from the lake. You've got everything you could need right by you as well! 10/10 would definitely recommend!
