El Rancho Motel - Motel in Royal Oaks - 976 Salinas Rd, USA

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very kind. There was a coffee maker, but no coffee, cups, cream and sugar if you wanted to make coffee. There is not a microwave in the room but there is one to use in the office lobby.

I love this Motel. Pan the owner, is friendly, straight up and minds his business. The location is great, it's just out side of town on the outskirts. It's small and the cops don't patrol it like they do the Motel 6 and all of the other Motels in Watsonville, Santa Cruz and Salinas. Sure, it's a little out dated but if your on parole or probation and are trying to kick it or maybe your looking for a place to do a quicky and your boyfriend/girlfriend isn't comfortable at the other spots in town because the local cops are constantly circling the parking lots, so their performance isn't up to par (if you know what I mean, wink- wink😉) then this is the place for you! It's a small quilt place. The rooms are a little old fashioned but they are doing some upgrades. I stayed here for work and I was happy. I've stayed in different places in Watsonville and noise was always a factor for me. It was nice a peaceful.

I read so many complaints about this motel but honestly my stay is great. The motel was probably recently renovated. The standard Queen room is clean and actually really cute (see photos). The bedding is comfortable and the pillows are memory foam. The location is quiet and close to the 1 freeway so it’s accessible to Santa Cruz, Moss Landing, Monterey. My only complaint that isn’t a big complaint is that the 1 central microwave in the lobby is too old to make popcorn. I would definitely stay here again.

Dont want to knock down anyone's business,however the rooms didnt have a refrigerator,or coffee maker,internet didnt work,but was very comfortable,if you want just a room to be in with nothing more then its ok,a little over priced for not having anything extra!! Wouldn't pay the rates their a asking

The place is clean, but truly budget. They have upgraded but low end. Service is minimally friendly. There's a microwave in the lobby for guests to use, and no refrigerator. The bed is uncomfortable, there are 2 flat pillows in one case!

Cute & Friendly staff. You can tell that the owners are trying their best. It's not the Ritz or even Holiday inn. But for the price & the location it's a grate place. I do recommend bringing a foam mattress or something a bit softer to put on the beds as they are brand new & still firm. Other than that it's clean has a min fridge, TV, bed, & coffee pot. the basics if your needing a place to crash for a night or two. and the best part it's 30 Minutes either way to Santa Cruz or Monterey with out paying the high prices & not so crowded.

It seemed clean and initially I really liked the room and spot. But I woke up in the middle of the night with a bed bug on my head. I also found several bites on me the following day. I would probably avoid staying here in the future to avoid the bed bugs.
