Red menudo was on point. Great place for breakfast. The bar looked loaded, and it could be a nice place on a Friday Saturday night for dinner and drinks.
Great Food and Staff We visited on a Saturday evening at about 5:00. We had about a 15 minute wait which is no surprise for a Saturday night. We have been here before and it is one of our favorites for Mexican food. Complimentary chips and salsa are brought to the table right away. Diners have a choice of mild or spicy salsas. Both are very flavorful and the spicy does have a bit of heat. They have a full bar with several reasonably priced beers on tap and diners near us were really enjoying their Cadillac Margaritas being made to order by a very personable bartender. My wife ordered her favorite Garlic Shrimp dinner. 6 large shrimp and vegetables in a tomato butter garlic sauce that is to die for, served with rice, refried beans and warm tortillas on the side. I opted for the Menudo which is typically only available in Mexican restaurants on weekends as it takes a long time to make. I wasn't sure if I've ever had it before so they gladly gave me a sample to try and I liked it. The 'meat' in Menudo is tripe. Tripe is animal stomach lining and is light in flavor and tender having cooked for a long time. The broth is light, red from chilies - not spicy and contains hominy (corn). The menudo is brought to the table in a bowl with a side plate of chopped onion, cilantro, lime wedges and a shaker of oregano. Instead of tortillas, it is accompanied with bolillo, a grill toasted buttered bread with a somewhat crunchy outside and soft inside. The menudo exploded with flavor after I added a few shakes of oregano, squeezed in a couple lime wedges and added all of the onions and cilantro. The bread adds a little tasty textural factor to the meal. Both meals were 5-star and for as busy as the restaurant was, service by the staff is attentive and friendly.
We were having a tough afternoon as we drove over an hour to pick up a part in Green Valley, that the store did not have. Trying to make the best we decided to have dinner. We had a horrible time navigating a new area with no street or parking lot lighting. We found two other Mexican restaurants. One looked sketchy, the other no outside patio and standing room only. Then we decided to try El Patio. This was definitely meant to be! We were warmly greeted, including our puppy. We sat on the attractive patio and had a delicious, relaxing dinner. Our waiter even brought the puppy a pup cup. Joe was an amazing server and will try to get back here to see him and eat some delicious food!
This place use to have the best Mexican food in the area. Seems like they decided to cater to the snowbirds and the food went downhill. They put bell peppers in the salsa instead of cilantro!? Don't know what self-respecting Mexican would do that but leave that middle of the country mess in the middle of the country. Absolutely horrible the food they make here now. How far they have fallen. Sad.
Good food and great service! Everything was delicious!
We were shocked when our orders - which we had specifically asked to include beans and rice - arrived without rice and we were then told they were sorry they had forgotten to tell us they were out of rice. Seriously? They offered soup or additional beans, which we declined. But we were especially shocked to hear the waitress tell the table next to us the same thing when she brought their food - again supposedly she had "forgotten" to mention they were out of rice. It felt very much like they were intentionally hiding the fact that they were out of one of the main staples of Mexican food. We had to negotiate with the manager to get a discount, and he did everything he could to avoid discounting the meals despite the lack of rice.
Clean and bright. The staff was friendly and attentive. ( post snowbird season) Basic menue. I tried the enchilada platter which I never do, but glad I did. I will be going back to have it again! Wife like her chimichonga.
Decided to give this place a try , this is a so-called Super Nachos 🤣 never again, and to top it off I've never heard of this before but they charged you want another basket of chips salsa was good service was ok staff were very friendly, but food not IMHOP not worth it. But decide for yourself.
