El Monte Motel - Motel in Dinuba - 1878 E El Monte Way, USA

Pros: clean, quiet, good location, nice and helpful owners, hardwood floors instead of carpet, looks newly renovated||||Cons: new renovation appears only 75% completed, bed right next to door (think door almost hits bed when you open it), bed a bit hard though I still slept well, no bedside lamps, main restroom overhead light out, no curtains on completely clear bathroom window across from shower||||The owners apparently have a weird remote fixation. The TV remote was handed to me upon check in. Now I don’t know what a TV remote is going for on the black market these days but it must be enough that TV remotes must be carefully safeguarded. (laugh) Also, the AC remote was velcroed to the table for some unknown reason. ||||There were discolorations on the sheets that looked more like bad washing skills than lack of cleanliness. To make sure, I smelled the sheets. They smelled like they were fresh from the wash. ||||Though there is no tub and only a shower, the shower is almost the size of a tub. I also noticed white residue at the bottom of the shower drain. However, it looked like left over cleaning product. ||||As to the see through bathroom window situation, I went to the office and asked for tacks and a large towel to cover it up. The owner was very apologetic and immediately got me a dark pillowcase and tacks. She even offered to personally come to my room (though it was late) to tack it up for me. I told her no worries and did it myself.||||I think if they move the beds away from the door, complete the renovations and get more training for the housekeeper (which I suspect is the owners and not a professional housekeeper) it would be a great little hotel.

You guys have Roaches after seeing roaches I took the pillow cases off only to find lipstick on the pillows gross?!! No place to hang clothing television was not good voice would go on and off so you couldn't get everything that was being said. They person next door you could hear the door creek open every time they would enter or leave.Worst night not even a place to sit in only one chair the onther rooms have at least a little sofa and the price is the same. They have graffiti on the door frame and in the bathroom window.

Nous avons dormis une nuit et c'était déjà assez. Premièrement la propreté n'etait pas au rendez vous. Les plancher étaient crasses, une odeur trop forte, une chambre trop petite, une climatisation bruyante... À 65$/nuit on peut facilement trouver mieux ailleurs.

I organize a drive for old sports cars every year and this year, we stayed in Dinuba for 2 nights. We found the El Monte to be generally pleasant, Mike Patel, the owner was gracious. He's been working to renovate rooms and they are nice, although the design choices were perhaps, odd. The biggest problem we had was the fact that only 5 of the 20 rooms were non-smoking. One of our people had specified a non-smoking rooms and got a smoker. Mike did change his room to a less smelly one, but in this day and age, one would think that more than 25% of a motel's rooms would be non-smoking. Overall though, it was good enough for our rather undemanding group. We like small, odd motels and prefer to patronize family businesses, so this place was a good choice for us. Don't expect the frills of a big corporate place, but to hang your hat for a night, it's just fine.

Lovely place. Clean and attractive. Good and close parking. Nice owners. Stayed twice. First stay was great, good price too, though 2nd stay, the shower in another room was sub par and the sink was slow to drain. Before you accept the room I advise you check these. Remember aside from this being over looked by the maintenance people, this place overall is very nice, clean and a fair price.

My husband & I stayed here for a night after a late-night drive from Sequoia National Park. Everything is just great! From the rooms to the king sized bed. For the price per night, it's worth every sent. Bear in mind that the rate doesn't include breakfast but I we did not want to spend extra $40 dollars to a brand hotel for donuts and coffee. This motel is very comfy for the price and clean. This place is great for budget minded travelers, and this days who isn't.

The rooms I stayed in were remodel, look better than they did before but I still wasn't comfortable of the fact that whoever does the cleaning doesn't take the time to sanitize the door knobs, wipe down door, dust ... Or do a dsas daily wipe down. Because room 1 hadn't been rented out since remodeled and restroom was really dusty, hair in the shower, and dead water bugs by the bed, and the mini fridge was nasty, not even clean..... The blanket had stains and the chair was nasty filthy... And no room to walk... Room 9 was nice but again they need to do a daily wipe down and make sure nothing is left behind cuz I found a Cologne bottle in the desk... Room 7, the sofa was stained looked dirty I covered it with the comforter before sitting on it and then I found a jack Daniels bottle on the side of the bed, again they need to do a daily wipe down and make sure nothing is left behind.... I let them know about this so hopefully if I ever do go back I won't have any of these problems

Overall, this is a very basic motel, but it is surprisingly nice and clean considering how basic and cheap it is. However, my reason for the 3-rating star is that there was no hot water to speak of and my showers took place with cold water both nights that I stayed there. If you're on a budget and happen to stay in Dinuba, this is a good choice, especially if you're into supporting local businesses. However, if you want hot showers, you're better off at one of the other two hotels in town (Best Western and Holiday inn). I hope that water issue was just in my room and if it was, then this would be a nice, clean place to stay in a budget.
