El Mezon - Mexican Restaurant - Mexican restaurant in St Peters - 140 Salt Lick Rd, USA

First time. Walked a mile to this restaurant on the recommendation of the Rush Truck Dealer, was not disappointed, prompt service food was hot and portions were good. Got to meet the owner Arturo, he was very intensive and involved with what when on in the dining room and kitchen.

Ordered 2 lunch specials over the phone - specifically asked them what time lunch was over to get the correct price. ($10.99 each) + .75 side of rice. Show up & they charge me $33.75!? I wasn’t planning on spending $10 more for the same food. The manager comes over & says I was wrong & hands me back $4. So a $22 meal still came out to be $29. Take your business to Dos - they would never. This isn’t my first time being price gouged here either. I was hoping after a year things would be better - apparently not. Absolutely ridiculous.

Excellent authentic Mexican cuisine! I love the seasoned meats here. The salsa is very good and the chips are crunchy and fresh. The special extra hot sauce is good with a little kick to it. My favorite place for Mexican food in St. Peter’s. I highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent top notch customer service. Very clean place. They take pride in their food and there service. One of the best in the area!

We had gotten food from their food truck off Veterans and K by 70 and sat on top of the truck and only later realized it was a restaurant. Loved the food from the truck so we had to visit the restaurant itself and we were not disappointed. Place was packed on a Thursday night after the holidays so we knew it had to be good. Mariachi band was walking around and playing songs, we were sat quickly even though it was busy, food was brought out fast, they divided our checks no problem, cleared our table of extra plates quickly and appeared quickly to ask for refills often. I got the 4 street tacos and the sauces they came with (queso and something with a T) were incredible together on them. Would definitely go there again!

Update; We were there Thursday, 9/28 and when I walked towards the restroom the smell of sewer gas was very noticable and horrible. Please fix this issue..... I like El Mezon. Always friendly and fast service. Comfortable and relaxing to sit and talk. Good prices, good food.

It was really good. I have had better. If I could I would give it a 4 and a 1/2. I liked the waiters and food. The server did not come as frequently as normal. I wish he would have come more often. I got the lunch portion of the Chicken Fajitas. It was pretty good. The only disappointment was the service. Besides that it is a good place.

This place was packed and there was a wait. It didnt take long for them to get us to a table. I ordered the tacos al carbon with corn tortillas (3). The steak was bland and not seasoned. It was like the meat was steamed. The tomatillo sauce was very flavorful and carried the tacos flavor. My gf got the nachos fajitas. There was minimal queso cheese on the nachos and just weren't that great. The chimichanga was good as well as the Nachos Supreme. Overall not a bad place, just a couple points of improvement in my opinion.

About a 15-20 drive across the bridge but totally worth it. Our local spots are always so crowded on Tuesdays. The margarita tower was priced nice at $32 and we were lit between the two of us. The food Also hit the mark. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I’m so to get another free night to sneak out there with hubby. The place is nice sized so if you have a larger party good for that too!
