My absolutely favorite ever whenever I’m in Lorain it’s a MUST I go ! On top of that the portions are great
We were on a work trip, and this place was recommended. The white rice with frijoles colorados, and pernil was delicious! We even got some complimentary tostones which, as well, were fresh. Thank you very much!
Edit: Back again! Best of the best.
Very good tasting food. I have never experienced these tastes before. I kinda don't know what to say about the fried plantains. I thought I tasted something like bitter or almost vinegary, then sweet then back to this other taste. My tastebuds were exploding! Very different, very unique and dare I say tasty! Sorry I didn't catch the names of the food though, I will try to describe what we had best I can.
The pork chunks ( with bones) those were amazing, that sauce!!! They serve it rice and beans and I want to say the price was in the ballpark of $12.00. Very tasty! I would have that again.
The beef pieces over rice was good too but not as flavorful as the pork chunks and the sauce was good but almost greasy like. Still had a good taste and the meat was tender.
Oh my goodness now these little pocket things, forgive me I think they were beef pastalios that sounds familiar.
At about $3.00 oh my, my, my.... Pure Yum!
The only downfalls I saw were
There were a lot of flies from outside inside the eating area. So many that we were constantly waving our hands over our food. Yeah... I didn't like that at all. Granted it is summer and flies are in full force, but still.
Secondly, the movie they had playing in the restraunt was gross...it wasn't appropriate for people to see big sharks attacking...blood, guts and gore and more as I am trying to eat my food.
I would just suggest something neutral maybe.
Other than that all in all it was a good experience. I liked the pastalios the best!
Try it for yourself.
As always I write detailed, truthful reviews and if you liked this review or found it helpful would you kindly give me a thumbs up.
Thank you and Enjoy El Kefón!
I used to love this place But they are never consistent on how much I’m charged for stuff when the owner is up front since he knows I can’t eat rice he gives don’t charge me almost full price like the other workers here do. $10 for a small cup of pork Is outrageous..
This was a great place for a quick lunch while I was in Lorain, OH.
Service was fast and steady. Heavy crowd so this place must be great!
I have never had a bad experience here. The food is always good and flavorful!
We absolutely love the food here. People are always friendly, prices are fair. portions are large, and food is fresh. Even when there is a line service is fast. If you haven't tried this you are missing out on great Puerto Rican food.
The owner was extremely nice. He brought us additional food to taste. We will definitely return.
âFood rating is for the coffee onlyâ
Stopped in to grab a cappuccino and get some work done. Seating area is plentiful and the cappuccino was great. Service was friendly and accommodating. Gets loud when the crowd pours in, but I thrive in a loud
Friendly service with amazing donuts! I want to come back to try the sticky buns and other menu items. The fry cakes are really good. We'll be back! They also have day old baked goods for a very low price!
Beautifully restored lighthouse.
My wife and I did the sunset dinner cruise and it was awesome. Tour and history were great and the meal was delicious. Sunset made the night.
It's a little expensive, but we thought it was well worth it. Highly recomm
Easily one of the best cocktail bars in Ohio. I highly recommend this even over cocktail bars in Cleveland and Columbus. The price and the tastes of the drinks are absolutely incredible. This cocktail bar will always be a reason to go to Lorain.
Lovely park with ample room for an assortment of outdoor activities. I went to see the waterfall and it didn't disappoint. Little bit of a walk (paved path, then grass) to get to the waterfalls but very enjoyable. Lots of parking as well.
