I ordered carne asada tacos I only ate 2 of the 3. The meat seemed like it was not seasoned enough. However the service there is great. Just not my favorite authentic Mexican restaurant for food.
Not too impressed. Average Mexican cuisine. Service was not very good. The A/C was not working or something we were sooooo hot and just trying to get our check and boxes and we waited over 35 minutes. Salsa and cheese dip are average. Margarita’s same.
Great Mexican option in the area. Love the atmosphere and the staff are very snappy to provide service. If you like it spicy, I recommend you try their hot salsa. Unlike most Mexican restaurants in the area, the hot salsa is not just about the heat, but it has a great flavor as well. El Jinete has become a regular spot for my family and myself.
Had a uber eats order, chips tasted of stale fryer oil. Trios tamales were very unimpressive, litter flavor and the "red sauce" has to be a watered down marinara. Overall terrible food, threw away the majority.
Just recently moved here and r so blessed to find this place, been killing the Shrimp Quesadillas for a couple of months now. Cooked the simple way I like it, Quesadillas filled with a boatload of shrimps with melted cheese and that's it. Today I went with the steak fajitas for the wife and she said it's was awesome and she might get 3 meals from that order. I went with the Chicken Enchiladas de Mole and it was surprisingly tasty (spicy) with a little kick to it.
Been here 3 times so far, every time it's just meh.
First time I had the Birria Tacos, they were soaking wet in grease, and not crispy like they should have been.
Got fajitas last time that were just okay, really lacked seasoning, and again, it was just so greasy. Never seen fajitas be greasy before.
Will not be coming back.
This is our favorite Mexican Restaurant in the area. Always greeted nicely, immediately taken to our seats, food is incredible, and the ambience is warm and inviting. The Birria Tacos will take you to another world. Oak Ridge needs more restaurants of this quality.
I wish I could rate it 4.5 stars. The staff was very friendly and our food came out quick. It wasn't the best Mexican food I've ever had but certainly not the worst. It was decorated very nice inside. This was our 2nd visit since it has opened and we'll be going back again for sure.

This is a great place to eat. People are nice and accommodating. Food is great. Building and atmosphere are simply a hole in the wall. But if you like Cashew Chicken and Wanton. This is the place for you. Get it to go. Highly recommended!
Good place to visit if in Oakridge. Include it with other historic sites of the same type when in the area. It is a small museum on the mainly torn down site of a great factory. Few people visit here.
