Today I went in this el jarritos to get food for the wife and myself, we are both fans of these restaurants. I ordered bowls, refried beans, Spanish rice topped with steak and queso, my favorite dish in this el jarritos. When I got home and we sat down preparing to eat, my wife pulled a foreign object out of one of the pieces of steak in her bowl, picture below. I hate to make this post because it could be detrimental to this business but I would hate even more to find out someone actually swallowed a smaller piece of this and ended up in the hospital. I can only say to the owners and management, get rid of the wire brushes that are used to clean the grill. This is an issue that can be searched and easily found, people consuming small pieces of wire where a grill has been cleaned with a wire brush.
Similar format to Chipotle, website prices have not been updated to the higher charges, eg ~20% higher. Adequate food quality but good service.
Super cool people over there with great food. I’ve been there twice so far, and both visits have been great. I couldn’t recommend El Jarrito more
It was my 55th Birthday and my mother and myself enjoyed it. Everyone was friendly and happy. My first wrapped burrito since leaving California .I will definitely be returning.
The food is super good. Caesar is very polite and great at what he does, always a pleasant visit. The girls working with him are nice too, very thorough. Didn't get their names though
I'm from Central South Texas and honestly I never thought I'd find a decent Mexican food restaurant in Louisiana. very reasonably priced and I like the option to be able to customize it the way you want to like Chipotle. Definitely one of my top picks for this area for Mexican food
Make your own burritos, bowls, tacos, or quesadillas. Took ours to go. Yummy food. Excellent queso blanco. Blah atmosphere. (Prefer the sit-down locations with a full menu = on hwy 33 or I-20.) Nothing fancy but good for a quick meal.
The Fresh Mex spot is by far my favorite of all El Jarrito locations! They're quick, friendly, funny, and the food is always great! Build your own bowls, burritos, quesadillas, etc. & they always accommodate! Salsa bar for the win, as well!
