El Encanto Restaurant - Puerto Rican restaurant in Buffalo - 257 Virginia St, USA

The food gets these stars - excellent! I give only 3 because the ownership of this establishment needed to do better than one waitress (who was also bartending, hostessing, and taking care of take out orders) and one cook on a Saturday night. She was working her butt off but could only do so much. The young lady had 3 tables walk out because she couldn't get to them fast enough. I don't blame her. I blame the owners who couldn't be bothered to make sure they were properly staffed on one of the busiest restaurant nights of the week. Go for the food, but if you see only one waitress working, leave and go somewhere else, or be okay with frustratingly slow and inattentive service.

I walked in to order take out last week, it was ready in 15 minutes and the pina colada was phenomenal - made with fruit, not mix! With COVID, there wasn’t indoor dining, but it looked brigh and crisp. We ordered, strolled around the block for 15 minutes, and on our return, our meal was waiting for us. It was really good. I was happy to have mofongo - it came with half a chicken! The pastelillo was large and good, though not my favorite in the city.

Good food, great service and nice place. Food took a little while to be served. Recommended

Waited 30 min and FOOD was serve cold. The prices were different in the receipt. First and last going to that place again. Paid more than I expected. And the colada didn’t taste like colada at all.

This Puerto rican restaurant is definitely worth checking out! The food is amazing, decor is great and staff are welcoming! Only suggestion...don't come starving, although the food is sooo worth the wait! Highly recommend!

Its been an hour and still waiting for main course. This is something you could fix so easy. Why? I was skeptical about other people who said it took long time. But it is true its too much waiting. I will update with taste of food.

Pernil had no flavor and honestly looked like chicken. The beans were good the rice needs flavor

BEST PUERTO RICAN FOOD IN BUFFALO. I am from PR and this is the most authentic food I found. Love it!!!
