Lovely park in the peninsula. I’ve driven by here a few time but never stopped. I finally decided to come here on a random Tuesday and got a small hike. It was lovely peaceful forest with plenty of trails. I was able to see the sandstone formation and vista point in my short time there. This area is wonderful. I definitely need to explore the hiking trails here more often.
Miles and miles of beautiful trails through the redwoods. It’s not nearly as crowded as the nearby parks and the bikes were no problem since the trails are wide. Pretty much all the trails are up and down so be ready for lots of steep sections- but it’s worth it! Tons of mushrooms and banana slugs out after the rain, and keep an eye out for salamanders.
Possibly the best place to energize and reconnect, mid-peninsula. While I love the energy of the Peninsula I need the tranquility of nature even more. Just a short drive (weekdays) away it is a hikers paradise.
One of the most beautiful hikes in Bay Area. Reached this place Arline 9 AM and it was super foggy till 12. Hike is very nice and beautiful. Full of redwood trees.
Some good trails here. Quite a bit of elevation and the trails are fun and slightly challenging. Not too many viewpoints though.
Finally, we picked a weekend without raining to check out the Redwood forest. The 2023 rain season has not been kind to the west coast with down trees and broken roads or trails. The main parking lot was half full compared to the usual car sharks in the typical weekend day. The new sign of no electric bicycle was erected, but there were still those trying their luck. Perhaps it could've been a better luck for cyclists in general with frequent down trees across the trails. Soaked mixed mud and leaves made sure feet do not sink in. It was hikeable, but the ground felt over saturated. It's great to see the trees sprouting and growing well. New seedlings are overshadowing the trail sides dotted with mushrooms as ground cover. Overall scenery was average and best without much of the bicycle traffic.
Beautiful, peaceful trails. A fair number of cyclists on some trails (on weekends at least), but a lot of the trails were quiet even on a Sunday. Lovely redwoods, some old. Nicely shady — good for hiking on a warm day.
Really fun place to go but easy to get lost. Watch out for bikers because they DONT watch out for you and will be flying down the trail. Beautiful in the early morning when the mist is in the trees.

Just opened to the public last November 2017. Lower La Honda Creek is a historic working cattle grazing land. Picturesque and peaceful. Hardly anyone was around. Open rolling hills and grassland. We were lucky to be there on a cool, foggy mornin
Such a great hike all about 4 miles around the loop. Definitely recommend taking water on a warm day and heading counter clockwise on the trail that way the accent is shaded and the walk down is in the sun. Great views from the top. Saw lots of pe
