Place was plenty busy. The service was better than usual. The food was not as good as we expected. It was made a little different than other Mexican restaurants we go to. The refried beans were on the dry side and still had many whole beans in it. My husband didn't care for it that much. And my husband is Latino. I was surprised that what they called their Chulupa looked very much like a Tostada. The presentation was nice. Their rice is more flavorful than most I have tasted. Their sauce in the bottle was good..it was tangy and had just the right amount of heat. I was surprised when I went to move my plate and it was dirty almost all the way around the rim on the outside.

The manager, Melissa is amazing. She is friendly and very intuitive when it comes to customer service. Thank you for all your hard work and for having such a great staff! I highly recommend the El Commodore.

Always consistent quality and friendly service.. fluffy tacos and margaritas the ultimate! The fried ice cream was so darn good… now we always order it! Thanks for making it a fun and friendly place to eat!

I'm really on the fence. I thought the food was just average, my kid loved it. I didn't understand the salsa situation. They bring you chips and salsa but there is an additional salsa on the table you can mix to make a spicier salsa. The food is very cumin forward, so expect that flavor. They are known for their puffy tacos so maybe next time I'll try that. The service was a 10 and our food came out extremely fast. The atmosphere was open and friendly.

I wasn't going to write a review on this and thought maybe it was just a bad day for them that day. But others just need to know. Let's start off with the menu. * very small and limited on options. * food was too simple. * nothing unique about the dishes. * their tortilla and salsa pre-meal was good. Services. * our waitress was very nice. But overall, the menu was small. The burrito I ordered was just that. A burrito with lettuce inside and other burrito stuffing on a plate that is just big enough for the burrito. No sides came with it like rice and beans or additional guacamole. It tasted great, but if I knew it was going to be that small and that simple, I could have gone to a store and bought a microwave burrito instead, and it'll be the same. What can they improve on. * meal options (more of it). * offer more unique flavours and dishes. * make burrito, enchiladas, and fajitas orders come with a variety of sides. (rice and beans or other options). Would I eat here again...likely not.

Hadn't been here for quite awhile due to a fairly poor experience in the past. Decided to try it again because it was bound to have improved right? Wrong. While the food wasn't bad and the server we had did a good job, there was an employee named Melissa (the manager I think although I hope not) who was about one of the most foul people I have had the displeasure of overhearing. You wouldn't think a manager would be speaking to another person, in a voice loud enough for a good portion of the restaurant to overhear, would be trash talking the people that they are working for. If that wasn't bad enough, the way she berated the poor bartender who accidentally made a drink wrong would have made even the most seasoned bartenders walk off the job. Calling the people who work under you stupid, incompetent etc should never be accepted, nor should it be said out in an area where customers are able to overhear. Will definitely not return.

I just want to say... I miss the El Commedor in Albany Oregon!! It was my favorite restaurant, I'm so disappointed that it's gone. 😭 May I PLEASE get your guacamole recipe? To this day, it's still the best I've ever had and to have it again would make me the happiest woman alive!

The remodel is gorgeous. Although the wait staff needs better training, sat there for an hour and a half talking and the waiter never returned after picking up dishes... Never offered more water or Nother drink. Food was sadly disappointing. My hubby ordered the bean dip which was over cooked or warmed...sunk in the middle and dried out...not sure what happened. Then the beef in the fluffy tacos was overcooked, dried out and no taste. Sadly, things change but so glad Chipotle is there now for when I go home. We had high hopes but what a disappointment. Maybe they will try harder after reading reviews. I know I would if business owner.
