This establishment is truly exceptional, at least in my opinion. I came across it approximately six years ago, and it has become my go-to-spot whenever I’m in the vicinity. They specialize in takeout only. I highly suggest downloading their app for pre-ordering, especially if you prefer to avoid long lines. Their freshly made flour tortillas are authentic and homemade, a definite highlight worth trying.
This place is a legend among locals and those who know the Salinas area.
It started as a small neighborhood market selling produce, grocery goods, drinks, etc. It also had a small taqueria.
Family owned for many years. The mother of the family can cook up delicious Mexican fare.
The taqueria was so popular that it exceeded sales of everything else. Eventually the market was turned into food to go orders, and it has excelled.
My favorite are the burritos. Carnitas are moist and seasoned all so well. Chilli Verde is spicy, as well as the costillas. They also had fajitas at one point, but no longer.
Other meats include, chicken, chili Colorado, chicharon, al pastor, chili relleno, carne asada.
The lunch crowd can be huge and a line out the door so be prepared for a wait.
Try it I don't think you will be disappointed.
Yes this place has been around for years with the recent updates inside and out it is a really charming place to pick up a bite to eat tortillas are home made fresh just like mama use to make them #nolies everything was superb one thing that it really left a not so good impression was the speed of service they could really step it up in that area other than that great food and i believe they even cater as well good day .🙏🫶
I was sold on this place when I saw they make their own tortillas.
My husband and I shared Chile Verde & Chile Colorado Burritos. Both were delicious. I don't think you can go wrong. The tortillas are fantastic.
My only small complaint is that they don't roll the burritos very well, so they fell apart while we were eating them.
There isn't any seating inside, but they do have picnic tables outside on the side of the building, so that's where we ate.
I'd highly recommend coming here if you're in the area!
It’s decent. Order at the counter, build a burrito place; though they have more than burritos! Just look at the menu. Burrito is small and they don’t warm the tortilla. I like warm tortillas. Meat is delicious though. Refried or pinto beans; didn’t see black. Extra charge for most fixings: guac, cheese. Outdoor patio seating.
We took a little detour to visit this gem on our way south. Did not disappoint. At first we thought the prices must be wrong, since I haven't seen a $5 burrito in a decade. Turns out they just have a really great thing going here.
The burritos are smaller than your typical taqueria logs, but priced really fair. When we mentioned it, they smiled and told us they make them smaller so that you can try more things. In reality, these burritos are exactly how my suegra makes them. Perfect little handfuls that taste like home.
We almost passed it by since we couldn't place a phone order and the online ordering was being weird. Just go inside! It was quick, even on a busy Saturday before lunch. Miss this place already and will make sure to visit when we are in the area.
There was a line back for the door, but it moved quickly. Great selection, and very tasty food. Limited seating outside, but totally worth eating in your car while it's hot :). Excellent drink and chip selection also ..
Chiles were really good, tortillas could have been more fresh. No indoor seating and no public bathroom. Worth the side trip if you're in the area but not if you're driving down from the bay.
Stopped here after a long hike in Pinnacles National Park for a late lunch on a Wednesday. Chips and salsa were good and served almost immediately after we sat down which is great when you're hungry. Drinks came really quickly too. Same benefit. We t
It's my first time here.. it's a Small cozy dinner. Exactly what I was looking for. The waitress was very nice. She alone gets 10 stars. The food was cooked to perfection. I had sausage omelet with cheese. Side of vegetables and bacon. I'll be going

Tried as many of the "Estilo Hidalgo" items as possible and they were all bangers. I wish there was a restaurant like near where I lived! Friendly, family place, great in all ways.
I am a huge fan of the Blue Zones Vegetable Burrito. The flavor is so good that I don't miss the cheese or sour cream. (I ordered it two days in a row.) I am so glad the tortilla is whole wheat and really appreciate there being flavorful vegan option
I flew to the Salinas with two friends. Airport restaurant was closed on this Veterans Day. We took a short walk to this location and were not disappointed. Great fish tacos with fresh made tortillas and a unique Mexican flavor Weâll be back.
We started here as part of a three winery tour on a Saturday. We were the only people there early in the day, and we had a long visit with the winemaker. The setting is perfection! We loved the wines. We would definitely recommend, and we will defini
