Unit I stayed in was excellent! Looks recently updated. Smart TVs in every room. Good Wi-Fi connection. Well stocked kitchen has all cookware , cutlery and dishes for eating in. Beds are super comfortable. The building amenities are well maintained. There are two pools, a hot tub, a wading pool for young children. The snack hut at the pool was still open when I was there but I understand it closes as visitors decline. Large white sand beach is staffed with chair/umbrella company . Plenty of room if you bring your own chair but you might be restricted in where you can set up.|Only issue was with the elevators. The building is in the process of replacing them so about half were not in operation. I understand this will complete in early fall 2024. Glad to see the owners are working to keep the structure updated and code compliant!

This was our 4th year in a row staying at Edgewater Beach Condominiums and probably our last. We usually book directly through their website and have been lucky to stay in nice, clean units. It is pure luck, however, as their website does not allow for customer reviews nor do they note what year photos of unit were taken or if units have ever been renovated. |Our number one issue this year was that they are repairing/replacing elevators. A process we were told by a staff member could take several months. The result is that only 3 out of 5 elevators are working….for a building that has over 100 condos. So there is ONE elevator on one end of the building for floors 1-4, ONE elevator in the middle part of the building for floors 1-9, and ONE on the other end of the building for floors 1-16. So there is only ONE working elevator for anyone staying on floors 10-16!! |Also, on the end of the building closest to the office (with the elevator up to floor 16), you can also NOT get onto the elevator at the 2nd floor - which is the beach/pool access floor. This means if you use this elevator you will either have to walk up or down one flight of stairs to access elevator. |It is unfortunate that we wasted so much time|and patience waiting for elevators as it marred what was otherwise a great vacation. The beach is beautiful and clean; the umbrellas and chairs provided by the condo at the beach were great; this condo is in a great location and is within walking distance to great restaurants, a grocery store, an outlet mall and souvenir shops.

My family and friends have been coming to Edgewater Beach Condominiums in Destin for 10 plus years together. Over the years, there have been more and more issues that arise which we have always dealt with because we have been bringing our kids here since they were little. One issue that is constant is the elevators not working. We've been told again and again that they will be fixed but this is never the case. We just stayed the end of July and there was literally one working elevator. ONE! The average wait time was 20 minutes if you were lucky. Most people took the stairs even when they were on the higher floors. Along with this, the main pool was not working the entire week. With all that being said, you would expect management to be apologetic but that was not the case at all. We were not given one apology. In fact, the management was rude and abrasive and would not let me speak on the phone. There is a group of 25 of us that come every year (some of us multiple times a year) and sadly that will be our last stay at Edgewater. I don't normally write reviews but for the money you spend at Edgewater, you will not get the service expected nor the accommodations. And, if I was an owner there, I would expect the management to provide the type of customer service that brings people back and can handle themselves professionally when things are broken/out of order. Apologies and a mild form of empathy go a long way to people who paid a lot of money to vacation here and spent a week with a pool not working and one working elevator.

My family has been going to Edgewater for the past 20 + years. This year was one of the worst experiences we have had with the property. While we stayed on the 1st floor, we often visit our other families and friends throughout the complex (we have a huge group that goes). This wasn’t an option when there is only 1 of 4 elevators working which forced many to take the stairs and left people waiting in the heat for 30 min to catch the one in operation. We also often enjoy the 2 pools and take advantage of the drink/ food hut in the pool area. That wasn’t the case this year. They only had one pool in service. Once we realized this we asked and were told it should be up and running the following Monday but it was closed the entire week we were there. On top of that the bar was hardly ever opened and faced system issues the entire week. The staff that checked us in didn’t mention anything about issues before hand which would have at least set our expectations. Even the maintenance staff admitted that there was no way the issues would be resolved. Also, their fire alarm system malfunctioned sounding off the alarms early one morning. That speaker in our unit would start putting out static sounds throughout the week. Overall, I think management and staff should have been forthcoming about the issues.

Elevators out of order on arrival Saturday afternoon, partial power outage after elevators were repaired. Elevators down again. During powered issues, pools were closed Access to bathrooms when on the beach was locked due to pool closure. It's a very long walk from the beach to our room especially when we had to use the stairs! No lighting in the stairwells. Was very hazardous lugging groceries up and beach supplies up and down. Staff Accidentally set off a loud alarm on buildings PA system waking all at 8:00 am. The hairdryer in the bathroom was out of order. 2 of three bulbs on the bathroom vanity were out. Was too dark to get ready. Many issues that really made our stay less than stellar. Very disappointed.

Elevators don't work. One of the pools was broken. That left the other pool overcrowded. Lots of trash overflowing the trash cans. Lots of stains on the concrete. Dust on all the vents. That's just to name a few issues, there are more.|Beach rules aren't enforced. You'll be surrounded by people with large speakers, setting up chairs and stuff in front of the chair service you paid for, and people bring their dogs on the beach.|If you are good with all that, then I guess this place is for you.

Don't rent a condo higher than the 2nd floor. All elevators are broken all the time. Some times one is working. Definitely not handicap friendly. This place is really run down. Broken pools, lots of trash over flowing on the grounds. For the price you pay, you can find something better.

We booked this condo Room 809 thru Vacasa. When we arrived we discovered there is a security gate and guard shack to enter. There was no guard or instructions on how to enter. After sitting about ten minutes we moved to a parking spot outside the gate to call Vacasa. We could not reach anyone. Our reservation co formation mentioned nothing about how to enter. |Finally another car came and had a pass code. We followed them in, in order to get onto the property. |Tye property is confusing when you get in. There as an upper parking garage, lower parking garage and outdoor parking that have signs that say “High Top Only”. We looked again at our booking and there is no mention or map of the property or location of our condo. Not knowing we parked outside and started walking trying to find an entrance or elevator. We discovered all rooms are accessed on the west side and all balconies are on the east side. Found an elevator and went up to 8th floor. |We found Condo 809 and went in. |Immediately we were disappointed. As we walked in, we saw the walls were marred and scratched in every room. The pictures in the condo advertisement had clearly been taken 20 or more years ago. The bathrooms are tiny and outdated. The silvering on the mirrors are flaking off on the edges. The furniture is in terrible condition. The couch cushions have been worn down. See attached photos. The room reminded us of a roadside motel type place for college kids at spring break, a place to crash only. |Upon further discovery the floors were filthy. The top of the refrigerator had dust on it so thick I could write my name in it. |We called Vacasa again. All you can do with them is initiate a chat. You can’t speak directly with anyone. They won’t call you back. Very frustrating. All they did was apologize in text and say they could refund our cleaning deposit. We had to basically clean this place in order to stay here. They would not put us in another condo. |This building has approximately 120 condo units and two pools. However, there are only 36 chairs by the lower pool and 32 by the upper. Total of 68 chairs for 120 units. You do the math and you’ll see as we found out. You can’t get a chair to sit at the pool unless you get up at the crack of dawn in order to go down before everyone else. |The positives is the complex is in a good location, they try to keep the outside looking good. Refer to the pic I took at night. We aren’t sure if the other condos are better kept. My my advice is to STAY AWAY FROM CONDI 809. Do not use Vacasa as a booking agent. We travel frequently and this was the worst accommodation I’ve had to endure in many many years.
