Edgewater Inn Coos Bay - Motel in Coos Bay - 275 E Johnson Ave, USA

The large room was newly renovated and clean. Beds were very comfortable. Very nice room. We didn’t have a river view room, but we spent about an hour out on their dock just enjoying the sun. After sitting for a bit, we decided using their dock probably was wiser than spending the extra money for the riverside view since all of the balconies were shaded and probably a bit colder. Only downside was no breakfast in the morning.

So glad we didn't listen to the negative reviews. Our room appeared very up to date. Super comfortable beds. Very clean. No safety concerns at all although clearly would be in other parts of coos Bay. We were on the water side. It's fronts on a shopping plaza which turned out to be useful for us. Definitely no noise concerns. Would absolutely stay here again. A value for this level (moderate) of motel.

Disregard any negative reviews you may have seen prior to July 2024 of this establishment. Under new ownership, yes remodeling is underway but the rooms are absolutely fantastic. Clean, comfortable and have modern amenities. I will definitely stay here again on my next road adventure north. 👍🏻

We stayed for Thurs, Fri, Sat of 4th of July weekend. Worst decision I've ever made. The room (room 110) was really dirty upon entering. We opened the back door for airflow and tons of dust bunnies and hair immediately stuck to the screen of the door. The bottoms of daughters bare feet turned black from dirt (and whatever else) after 30 minutes walking around our room. We had to clean the floor with damp towels that first night!! They were completely brown afterward. The next day we requested room service. We came back after being gone all day to find the room NOT SERVICED. When we went to inquire as to what happened, the front desk person said he was sorry but they were short staffed and "I'm the only employee from 3-11 every day." So, no one was available to clean it. He offered me towels, instead. I said I needed a clean floor and clean bedding. Not towels. My husband went back in after me and got a mop and we literally mopped the floor ourselves....again. Oh and did I mention we found not one but TWO enormous hobo spiders in our BEDS?!?!?! We wanted to find another hotel, but they were all booked due to the holiday. Hot tub is a scam, been boarded for quite a while. No breakfast, either. You are literally better off sleeping in a van down by the river. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. This was a very pleasant place to stay! The fresh remodel is looking really nice too. Beds were great and the pillows. The staff were absolutely wonderful! This will be our go to place for future visits to the area. The toiletries were top notch as well. Very pleased with everything. Also no need to hit up a coffee shop with their fine selection of the coffee makings available. The backside of the hotel has really beautiful views as well. The pool was pleasantly heated, though the hot tub is currently under construction . I do highly recommend this place. It is also conveniently located near major grocery stores as well.

My wife and I have had nothing but good experiences there. The front desk was amazing, the rooms were clean and well put together. It was regular hotel visits for my wife with no issues at all for the duration of the job that required her to be there. We were cared for and it was a lovely experience. When disposable income allows, thats our first choice for that area.

Very Disappointing! We have stayed here several times and were waiting for supposed upgrade. Upgrade turned out to be minimal improvements at best. Motel is not very Handicap Accessible, need to learn from someone who actually uses a wheelchair or at least has mobility issues. Rooms have NO Microwaves. One bright spot was excellent view of water. We will most likely not return or recommend this Motel to anyone.

Wow! What a hidden gem of a hotel! Kody, at the front desk, was fantastic with helping us. I used Google to search for hotel/motels and this was one of the places I called. They had a AAA discount, sadly not a first responder one too... Regardless tho the stay was great. Newly remodeled, the rooms are beautiful and beds fantastic. Also very clean! Thank you cleaning crew! Note: (Please tip folks, even a few bucks or least a kind note is helpful in letting people know you appreciate the quality, everyone loves to complain, yet few sing the praises, lets change that 😀) Definitely would stay again. The pizza place down the street was ok, Safeway and Fred Myers also has deli's and hot food bars if you're hungry and don't want to sit in a restaurant
