Edgewater Hotel and Waterpark - Featured Reviews (3203)
For the price of the hotel room you would think wristbands would be included and free coffee. The coffee wasn't even ready when we went down and it wasn't even that great. The staff was nice and the lifeguards were really good at monitoring the area. The kids did have fun swimming so it was alright. Just way overpriced.
Pros: staff was kind and helpful.
Brought the kids there for the Waterpark which was mostly clean and the kids thought it was awesome. There were quite a few lifeguards on duty so that was great. Have food and drinks available in the pool area...
Cons: everything else
Dirty damaged old hotel
Way overpriced, ended up spending around 550 a night, which is way more than the Hilton properties we usually stay at.
Place looks like it was built in 1991 and hasn't been renovated, painted, or cleaned since. It's worse than a truck stop motel 6.
Paid for a balcony with a lake view room, had a great view of the 4 lane highway, the dumpsters, and some pine trees.. could see a sliver of the lake in the distance...
My advice is stay somewhere reputable and bring the kids to the Waterpark separate.
I’ve stayed at this place twice. It’s very affordable and perfect for a quick trip! The second time we had a much nicer room. Possibly part of the new renovation? The water park is well staffed with lifeguards and I would feel very safe having my kids here. There is a nice coffee shop, bar, and a poolside grill. The whole place just needs cleaning and a lot of updating. Some slides are very dusty, the fake plants need to be replaced, and ceiling tiles need to be replaced. It’s a great location and great price for the Duluth in the summer. Right by the lakewalk.
This hotel has really gone downhill. We stayed 2 nights, and the cost was almost $700 with no Waterpark tickets. The room wasn't filthy but far from clean. We were locked out of our room for well over an hour because of a faulty door & maintenance being hard impossible to get a hold of via staff walkie talkies. Then to top it off, the day we were leaving, the elevator was out of order(not a big deal), so we headed down the stairs.....that's when we realized we were hauling our luggage through someone else's pee. Yes, you read that correctly, human pee & enough to go down an entire flight and a half worth of stairs. Although the location is great, it's definitely not worth the price.
This could be a great place. I think for 200.00 a night just for a room no extras my bathroom, ceiling and balcony would be clean. The lobby and hall ways and carpet need a good cleaning. The view from our room was great and the staff was very friendly
I've never had such friendly staff at a hotel. They went above and beyond at the front desk, and everyone else we encountered was also so nice. We booked this trip last minute, had a great deal on a room, with bunk beds for the kids and a balcony over looking the swimming area. The kids had a blast. The arcade is one of the better hotel arcades I've been to as well. Amazing view of the lake as well as a fantastic lakeside walking trail. I would certainly bring my family back.
We had a nice stay at the Edgewater Hotel for a weekend while we were in town for a marathon. The property is in a convenient location and easily accessible, with plenty of parking. We were given a room with a balcony and a beautiful view of Lake Superior. The room itself was clean and had all the essentials. We did not experience any issues during our stay, but the hotel WiFi was pretty weak and inconsistent. Aaliyah at the front desk was awesome and very friendly during the check-in process, so shout out to her. Overall, the hotel was pretty much what I expected it would be, and I’d certainly stay here again.
If you want to actually sleep, then this is not your place. Unfortunately, we had an interior bunk room by the arcade. It seems like easy access to all the fun stuff, and it is. Downside, we heard loud people at both sides of our room at all hours of the day (doorways at opposite ends). The arcade is damn annoying (some piano game playing non stop songs that could be easily heard in our room). It was supposed to close at 10, but I didn't hear that stuff down until closer to 10:15. It is on by 7:55 for the 8 am opening, which woke me up every morning.
At midnight people are loud in the halls.
Rooms are decent but could benefit from TLC. Example, moldy caulking in the showers. Furniture is beat up. Ac unit didn't keep the room comfortable. I suppose because it's an interior room and pulls air from the entertainment hallway, our room remained feeling humid despite attempts to adjust the temp.
In short would I stay here again? No.
We had an incredible stay and loved that it was in the heart of the Lincoln Park neighborhood - there were lots of shopping and breweries within close walking distance. The room itself was amazing, very spacious and stylish and we felt right at home.

Oh my gosh.....the Speakeasy Suite is a DREAM! The bathroom is beyond amazing and it is the nicest room I have ever stayed in. The mansion is beautiful and well cared for. There is no doubt we will be back again and again. Love this place - A+++
Hostel du nord is the place to be! Wonderfully welcoming employees. These guys smile the brightest and hug the warmest. Always know which direction to point you in for good food. Rooms are always clean. And workers are always in the mood for a great
My wife and I stayed here for 1 night. We're locals. This place blew us away. We were in one of their Junior Suite King Bed Bay View rooms. It's not a "fancy" hotel, but it was very clean and well maintained. It has so many little touches that show t
Wild State Cider has so many delicious options to choose from! Hands down one of my top favorite cidery. So delicious! I didn't try them but they also have a variety of THC infused beverages if that's more your thing!
