What a quaint, well maintained motel! The room was clean and comfortable. The little window unit a/c was a great source of white noise to keep the "new bed" issues from being a problem. The man at check in was friendly and helpful. You can tell that this motel is loved by its owners and a source of pride. Well done!
I could write pages about the excellent service here. We were pulling a pontoon boat & owner guided us backing it, securing it, & making sure it was safe. Gave us restaurant recommendations & followed up on our experience. In AM we discovered a broken tie down & owner helped fix this and GAVE us an extra ratchet strap! I’m not even mentioning all the good conversations. Room was spotless & cozy.
Great place to stay! Comfy beds, clean room and great staff here! Close to the beach n things to do. I highly recommend this place, can't say enough about our great stay there!
Save yourself the money and stay here! Our room was spotless and the owners were extremely nice! One thing that really stood out was the well lit parking lot and the fact you could park your car in front of your door. Convenient and safe! I actually woke up and thought the sun was up but it was just the lights in the parking lot! Don't worry though as they have room darkening shades :) The rooms have air conditioning and comfy beds. Keep up the good work guys!
This is what it is, an older, roadside Motel, but the rooms were clean, staff nice, I felt safe and slept well. Great water pressure, I know that's a seemingly silly detail but if you are tired from driving a hot shower with good pressure is a nice perk. There are not many sleeping option in Ashtabula, so unless you go a bit out of town for something with more amenities this works.
The ac unit in our room does not work. When brought to the attention of the owner he came to our room turned it in and said "it works." Just because it turns on does NOT mean it works! It blows warm moist air and the room smells like a locker room..... he then says "well you can leave the window open. I guess." Shrugs his shoulders and walks out. After going to the Gas station across the street for fabreeze we come back to spray down the bed and carpet; when turning down the bed sheets we find what appears to be a fecal stain on the sheet!!! Now we call the desk. yet again, this time they actually tell us they "don't care!" And hang up the phone! We checked in this afternoon only to make sure it was reserved bc of the holiday and went straight to a family picnic. We come back at 10:30 pm to this absolute joke of room and then are laughed at for complaining! do not stay here they are crooks and run a joke for a motel! Calling better business Bureau first thing in the morning! Oh I forgot to mention that someone had used the toilet and didn't flush as well 🤢
This motel has a policy of 48 hour cancellation, possibly 72 hours depending on who you talk to. In the lobby, there is a prominent sign stating No Refunds. My recommendation would be to take a look inside the room before you pay instead of reserving a room over the phone. The air conditioning is provided by a window air unit that runs continuously. In the room I stayed in, the A/C unit is about 2 feet away from the bed. There are no chairs in the room and the table-top space is mostly filled by TV and mini-fridge with microwave oven stacked on top. Remember to bring your own shampoo as none is provided. There is no coffee maker in the room but there is a McDonalds next door (at this time it offers only drive-thru service) and a Sheetz and Speedway across the street. On the plus side, there are no stairs to navigate unless you need to go to the office.
Really friendly folks. Took care of our fishing party, last summer. Nice. Quiet. Easy access. Benches outside the rooms to enjoy a cigar, drinks, and conversation. The men & I, we had a great time! Yes, the rooms are "dated", but not old. I would say they're nostalgic. Everything you need, without all the frump. Btw, we've been staying there 4 years in a row! The place just cannot be beat!
Amazing! Definitely stop by the museum, talk to Barrie, and see his mother's collection of covered bridge memorabilia. His grandfather set the stones for the bridge. His family has been in the area since 1820
I'll be honest, I was very surprised by how good the food was here. Ashtabula doesn't exactly come to mind when I think of fine dining, but Bascule Bridge pulled out all the stops. We loved the ambiance, our waiter was hilarious and attentive, and ev
Beautiful little lookout spot and covered bridge. Nice little spot to pull over and take in the view, read the information boards posted and learn a little bit of history. The colors in autumn ð are outstanding. When my family stopped it wasn't to
We are absolutely blessed to have such a gem in our community. I have been coming here since I could hardly put one foot in front of the other. (3 yrs old maybe?) It is something special for sure. The cookies are unbelievable with the light frosting
If you are ever in Ashtabula, OH you HAVE to come here!!! Locally owned and operated (I asked). I had a signature sandwich and it came out as big as my head!!!! It has amazing flavor and the staff are so friendly, helpful, and prompt!! We came from O
