Ed Lisenby Walking Trail by the public lake was perfect for an afternoon walk. It was paved and 3 miles around. The leaves are just now staring to change colors, but still mostly beautiful shades of greens. Several benches along the trail. You can also purchase your bait, drinks, and snacks at the store located close to the parking lot.
Visited the lake to walk the trail. It was a nice, peaceful nature trail to walk around the whole lake. Whole trip was a little over 3 miles. Most of the trail is paved, but some is gravel and sand. Dog friendly as well which is great. Enjoyed our time here.
Passing through, looking for somewhere to exercise the doggie, and this trail was beautiful! Took us just over an hour to complete the 3.5 miles, and we'll probably stop in the way back through!
The walking trail has a primitive section in some places, but it is hands down the BEST trail around this area that I know of. Taking photos by the lake on a nice summer day is such a lovely way to pass the time
I love this place. I’m a birdwatcher from the UK and always visit when I come to see my friends in Ozark. Lovely lake, calm and beautiful environment, a great fairly flat loop around the lake and some brilliant birds to be seen with little effort.
Best County lake fishing there is PERIOD!! Staff is super friendly and courteous. Great place for a family outing or to just relax with you and the Mrs. Check it out and I guarantee you will not be disappointed!!
Had such a fantastic walk today! The trail is pretty long, a little over three miles to get back to the parking lot. It's very shaded which is perfect for the summer. It is mostly paved, some gravel and some wooden bridges. Careful though the bridges are a bit slippery when wet! The lake is beautiful and visible for most of the walk. There are plenty of ducks and geese to observe and some other wildlife. We will be back for sure. Definitely appreciate a good shaded trail here in the Alabama heat.
Absolutely relaxing! I cannot believe that I went to flight school here over 15 years ago and totally missed this location. So thankful for the opportunity to have came back for another Aviation course and was given this amazing location and experience!
I go to Martindale because Tractor Supply is located here. Love that store because the things needed for country life ( even for city folk whom just like the life style) are found here. The staff is alway nice and welcoming.
