Economy Inn - Motel in Socorro - 400 California St, USA

I am very disappointed in this motel. There is no electrical outlet in the bathroom, so that a curling iron can be plugged in. And unlike most hotels these days, there is no blow dryer. And I had not brought my blow dryer. The bed was comfortable and the front desk finally gave me a long extension cord to use. There are plenty of channels on the TV and it worked well plus there is a microwave and a refrigerator. The bathtub is old and the fixtures were not labeled with hot and cold water. So I had a very difficult time figuring out which was the hot water faucet. They allow pets, but there is no grassy area at all to walk your dogs. And so you have to walk them strictly on the asphalt. I would never stay here again. It was memorial day weekend and yet they only had approximately 3-4 guests at this hotel....and now I see why.

I have stayed in many Motels in my life and this one was probably the worst. The room was pretty gross with a bad "Locker Room" smell throughout. Very sketchy area and I witnessed a few people using drugs openly and I'm not talking about Marijuana. Now I can't imagine it's easy running an older Motel but you can do better than what I experienced. We were able to park our truck with RV attached but didn't sleep well as we were constantly worried about it's safety. I will say that the staff was very friendly.

Overall this one just way too old. And the room was not clean at all. We had two rooms, one was nonsmoking room, but smelled like somebody just smoked a lot inside,horrible smell. And another room was on the second floor, crazy hot in the afternoon. Pillow case had blood stain on it, blanket was not very clean either. Not worthy it.

Had my credit card information stolen by the old woman cleaning rooms! I witnessed drug deals on two separate occasions one room over. The smell of Fentanyl smoke was so powerful, we should have left that night. Because, we did not, and stayed an extra day, that is when we noticed our room had been gone through. Credit card fraud a week later! Do the math! For reserving online, the room's carpet was disgusting and smelled of dirty socks. We plan to post warnings everywhere, as our complaint to management did not even warrant a call back

Location is good. Motel needs renovations. The price is high for rooms that don't match.

Very disappointed. For the price this motel was old and didn't appear to have been updated in years. Bathroom had old fixtures and the bathtub was very old and and the silicone sealer appeared to have just been smeared on. The biggest disappointment was the water didn't work in the shower. When we left the office was not open, so there was nobody to complain to. When we were on the road we called and finally reached somebody. Their solution was to turn around and they would give us a room to shower in. We were already 25 miles down the road. Definitely would not stay there again.

Exactly what I expected which is why I gave it five stars. Price was good. Location was good. Room was fine with no issues. Perfect for what I needed. Recommended for people just passing through who don’t need a fancy room and don’t have to have something brand new.

Very nice room , fan over bed great price friendly owner. Stayed here many times.
