Economy Inn - Granite City - Motel in Granite City - 3228 W Chain of Rocks Rd, USA

First of all let me tell you what I love about this place the hot water pressure is a freaking amazing. The room was very spacious with a very comfortable bed. The hot water was truly hot. The heater did a good job on keeping the room warm but the bathroom was still cold. Especially the tile floors. The TV had plenty of channels on it and the room did come with the microwave and refrigerator.

When we drove up we weren't sure about staying there after all, but they let us see the room and it was better than we thought. The air conditioning worked really well. The bed was very soft and comfortable. There was only a sheet and bedspread, but it was warmer than I expected since my husband likes to sleep in a walk-in freezer.

The service was excellent. The room, however, left much to be desired - especially the broken window with the clear trash bag covering it. Our door also didn't "catch" & lock when we closed it. The hinged swing-arm lock was the only means of locking the door once you were inside. When I was checking out though, the owner explained that he had just taken over ownership of the property approximately 6 weeks prior and, as of now, the entire first floor has been renovated. The second floor rehab is in progress and corporate has been contacted regarding the broken window. They told the owner that the windows are all made to order & would be ready within the coming weeks. As with many things of this nature, the installer would be issued a work order & would come replace the window in a couple additional weeks. As we were talking, I really felt for the man because he's doing the best he can to bring this property up to par. As money comes in, it is immediately invested in upgrades and improvements of one form or another. For instance, when we arrived, a couple of his staff members were out installing new, higher-definition security cameras. By Springtime, this will be a very nice hotel - I have no doubt. I wish them nothing but the best!

I came here because I couldn’t find the KOA and the EconoLodge was full, but I’m very glad I did! Very nice rooms for a reasonable price, and the other reviews ain’t lying when they say the water pressure in the shower is honestly very nice. The exterior of the motel looks a lil rough, but there’s nothing wrong with the place, you have everything you need, and the family that runs the place is really nice. Would come back again as a first choice.

I knew the hotel wouldn't be great..but WOW! It was by far the most disgusting place i have ever been! i am used to the $45 motels and know what to expect...but this place wasn't worth $5. As soon as we walked in the room there was a very strong odor...which would explain why the other guests had their doors open...was only 3 rooms haha and i thought it was because of the nice day. There was even a candle because they knew it smelled so bad..the best thing in the room as well. I have seen better chairs left out for the trash truck than the recliner they had as your chair..which i refused to sit on. The dresser was broke. There were brown stains all over the walls. The bathroom had 2 spots of blood on the side of the tub...stains of who knows what all over the walls and filth just built up. The sink was clear it had not been cleaned in quite some time. It was so bad we did not stay but about 4 hours and spent money we didn't need to spare on a new hotel.

Horrible. We were expecting bad but needed a cheap place to stay since we were going to a concert and did not want to drive back over river when it was over. To get to Pops nightclub for concert we had to drive thru east St. Louis. Not good.||On to the motel. Built in the river bottoms in a very shady place. All the doors had holes which had been patched from being kicked open. Very small rooms and no dead locks. Musty smell since smoking rooms. Very small bathroom. Scared to use shower so we did not. Small color tube tv. Did have fridge though. No amenities at all. Waffle House next door. Uses old key to open room. No key cards here. Made for some funny strokes when we got back home. ||Don't stay here. Please

Comfortable laid back atmosphere, Friendly couple keep it calm and quiet, and refreshed. One of a Kind Garden ,nicely adds to Granite Cities scenic decor. Honest guest from all over the U.S, stop by when when makeing a drive from east to west, after a run onroute 66. Thank You.

I've been to many motels and hotels in many countries, for many years, with no consistency, thee last 17 months on and off with no inconsisty economy inn granite,city IL was wavering my score card. Never lost or had an item misplaced. Extremely humble and genuine married couple run/ and I believe own place.
