Econo Lodge Port Canaveral Area - Hotel in Merritt Island - 260 E Merritt Island Cswy, USA

This was one of the dirtiest hotel I have stayed in. The floors were not mopped or even swept. The lightbulbs were not working and I had to go and request for 2 new bulbs the only bright light (not to make a pun) was the very friendly desk clerk who was sweet as could be and offered to come and change for me, I told her I could change. The parking lot needs major repair. In fact the whole hotel needs repairs. The lights that are on the outside of the rooms are as bright at night like the ones on streets. The bathroom floor was not clean and also has mold. I give props to the young lady at the desk while we were there she gave us good places to eat for dinner.

The rooms are not as pictured. We got two rooms and there were bugs everywhere. The bathrooms were very cramped and moldy. There were strange stains all over the walls and ceiling. The person at the front desk was very friendly and tried her best to make our stay better. She provided us with a can of bug spray from behind the customer service desk to use overnight...lol. It was pretty disgusting and I do not recommend staying. Luckily we were only there for a night before our cruise. I guess you get what you pay for. We did get half of our money back.

The place looks closed down upon arrival. Front desk personnel was great. From that point on there is nothing good to say. The rooms were disgusting and outdated. Felt like I was at the Bates Motel. Unfortunately we couldn’t leave we came straight from airport for cruise in the morning and had no way out. I will never step foot on this property again. I’m the type who can deal with rough conditions but this place is over the top with filth. They also offer shuttle service to the ship, which is 10 minutes away, as long as you pay 20 dollars per person. The building should be torn down and rebuilt. It would be cheaper than trying to fix it. Windows and all glass doesn’t look like it has been cleaned in months.

This place seemed nice when we booked, terrible in person. Homeless population, smelled of weed, overflowing trash cans on the property. Breakfast situation was terrible, lady was rude every morning and always out of everything. The pool was decent but couldn't go near it after 6 pm, someone yelled "it's closed" from the front office. Getting new towels was an act of Congress. Wish we could have switched hotels but there were no refunds. Sad that this is a Choice hotels property, more like a homeless camp. Mold in the vents and ceiling caving in

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay! It’s was too quick, we were just passing through. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I personally was able to check-in 30minutes early. The room was cold right away which was nice in the Florida heat. The rooms are dated but didn’t bother us, as it is a budget friendly accommodation. You’re not right on the beach, but only a ten minute drive to cocoa beach. If you don’t have a car there is a bus that you can catch almost directly across the street. They also offer shuttles to different attractions. Other than some old bathroom fixtures and maybe some old paint the room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was clean and cozy. The shower got very hot. The cable was better than basic. There’s a nice pool which was nice to swim in around sunset. There’s also a coin laundry room available to guests which I thought was pretty nice for guests staying longer. My husband and I went out for dinner, there are multiple restaurants within walking distance. The complementary breakfast was also nice. It’s not continental buffet style but a nice small offering. I really liked staying here. It’s convenient and affordable.

This motel is not a 5-Star at all.. The rooms were not clean at all the curtains were dirty from the outside. I did not even take my bag into the room. There were stains on the bedding and furniture. There was a foul stench in the room when we opened the door to the room. Needless to say I did not check the reviews, however I did not stay I checked out immediately and found another place to stay. The lady at the front desk was very nice and pleasant.

They got me on this one! I only needed one night before going on a wedding cruise. When we arrived I immediately had a bad feeling from the outside appearance alone with the fact that there were 2 police cars in the parking lot. The first room was total disgusting then we asked for something better. Best they had was very subpar. The pluming in the bathroom was terrible and I could go on and on. I cried all night! Do your research. They should shut it down !
