Econo Lodge - Hotel in Townsend - 2208 GA-57, USA

This hotel if you can call it, should be torn down. Ran hot water for forty minutes before it got lukewarm. Asked the clerk on duty and she said run it for a few minutes. No reply when I said how long I ran it for. Found mold in the bathroom. Cockroach came out from some place and then found a dead one on the bathtub towel. Turned on the unit for heat it ran for a few minutes and off. No ice machines on property. Then at one AM people partying outside of rooms.. TEAR THIS PLACE DOWN.

The only thing good about it is the location, the shower was clogged, second time I tried taking a shower the water took a long time to warm up, it did a little bit but not warm enough. Bed sheets smelled like used and it was too thin for the cold weather of January.

Aside from allowing my dogs this was not great. A family living there next door was grilling in front of room. They were loud, a toddler was high pitch having the time of her life till almost 11pm. We just wanted to sleep...but they allowed 3 big shepherds. 2 stars for allowing dogs.

The property was old with a minor facelift. Our non-smoking room smelled musty and like a lot of old smoke. The bathroom was dirty, had long black hairs stuck to the walls in the shower, and had a gross feeling, tiny, old toilet and seat. The curtains did not cover the whole window, which opened to the parking lot; meaning people could walk up and watch you sleep! Lastly, the continental breakfast that was included was really a fruit bowl with a few pieces of fruit, a honey bun, or a pack of mini muffins and a bottle of juice.

Two stars only because the front desk service was good. Rooms were super hot. AC did not even touch half the room. Room smells kind of funky. Very disappointed after driving for hours. But it was a place to lay our head. Deff need better cooling systems.

Roach infested. Disgusted. Was dropped off by law enforcement who helped my family because my car caught on fire on my way back home. Do not rent front Sixt. This was our last resort. And even then I’d rather sleep on the street.

My rating is due to the customer service from the front desk. The Gentleman was amazing. Very helpful for information, excellent customer service, and very person able.

I believe that because this is more of a truck stop the rooms are filled with the scent os cigarettes and leaves a very bad odor in the rooms which makes the place feel dirty...we stayed there just for one night so it was more of a rest stop for us...I would recommend it for that if you are just passing by...the staff is great.
