Econo Lodge Calhoun North Damascus - Featured Reviews (39)
IT'S NOT A HIGH END FACILITY! Nice place, furniture isn't beat up, actually the couch that was in my room was comfortable to sit on, not sunken in and bent like those high end suites.
Room was clean, plenty of towels and extra rolls of toilet paper in the room.
No odd smells, bed was clean, linens were clean and the bed was comfortable. Checked in and slept like a baby.
TRUCK PARKING IS AVAILABLE. side lot, back in from the street and you could probably park 6 trucks in there. You can turn around in the lot also if no one else is in there.
Well lit, cameras everywhere including the side lot.
Enjoy your stay!
This is not a safe place to stay for a single female. Construction workers in pool area were making comments a gestures about the women coming in and out. Check in was fine, room door was stuck. Hard to get in, needed to get clerk. Once in the room, the bed looked as though someone had been sitting on it. Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. This is a very noisy location with the construction and the highway next to it. I did not feel safe in my surroundings. I grabbed my belongings and began to walk out. There was a floor mat outside the door and it had been moved, underneath the mat a room key was under it. Out over $70 for the room.
This was a convenient and economical place to stay traveling on I-75. While the rooms were simple, as expected, they were clean, and well maintained. Hot water, cold AC. What really set this place apart is the husband and wife team that run it. When my car suddenly wouldn't start in the morning and I was stranded, they both went out of their way to help get me and my family back on the road, even going out to search for an open mechanic shop! They were a blessing and made the experience much less stressful!
Positive: Staff were friendly, slept well. Ice machine worked. Negative: WIFI certificate wasn't signed by a trusted authority, so never tried to connect. Breakfast was a snack (bear claw and/or some sugary cereal) - and had to reheat coffee in microwave.
“Econo Lodge exceeded my expectations. As someone who stays in hotels frequently, I usually opt for IHG, but when unavailable, I tried Econo Lodge and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are exceptionally clean with a fresh touch of color on the walls, giving it a new and clean look. The management is incredibly friendly and accommodating to guests’ needs. I highly recommend giving them a try, especially if you’re passing through North Georgia.”
Our room was clean and large. We had a nice table with 2 chairs, a large couch, a dresser, microwave and refrigerator. The bedside lamps had a regular outlet and a USB port. And no carpet! A great place for overnight while traveling.
The rooms are not cleaned after guests leave. We watched the owner from our vehicle go in and put the blankets a.d sheets right back on the bed. Upon entering the room we noticed that there was still clothes in the dressers and food in the fridge from the last guests.
Only stating facts.
After a terrible day of driving from St Louis on the way to Florida, this place was a welcome stop for the night! Very bright lights securing the parking lot made me feel safe to stay there. The lady Bhavika at the front desk was extremely polite and helpful! & Big bonus if you're a cigarette smoker, they do have smoking rooms available! I highly recommend this place if you're going to be staying in Calhoun Georgia for the evening. Thanks again Bhavika, I wish you & your staff all the best!
This was a lovely hotel to stay at. Clean, great choices for breakfast, and friendly staff all around. Calhoun is also a quiet, small area, as someone who is from Florida, it was a nice change. Would stay here again in the future.
We stopped here on our way to TN! December 12th. My husband had made a reservation on Travelocity and made it for the wrong day! So we called and asked if they could honor it for the night as we were almost there! The lady who answered said No, I wo

We stopped on our way to Elijay to get some tacos.
They make great tacos, authentic Mexican flavor and big portions.
Highly recommend if you are in town.
I stopped here for lunch on the way to Chattanooga. I always like mom n pop places and Yellow Jacket did not disappoint! The servers are kind, attentive, and friendly, and knew all of the locals who came in by name! The restaurant was clean.
