THE INN: Is an old colonial home kept clean with all white linens. Overall, it's nice, clean and comfortable, but the common areas and bathrooms could use some updating (although they are still very clean)||||THE ROOM: Our room was on the top floor and had very tiny windows and only a double size bed, which is a bit small for a couple. Make sure you ask for Queen or King size bed so you get one of the better rooms on the second floor. Very Clean overall. Bathroom was clean but the tile and shower door need to be updated.||||LOCATION: It NOT really walking distance to town or the beach. The owner said it was a 10 walk, it took me about 45 mins to town...and the walk is ALONG THE HIGHWAY...which is not nice. Note that it's located along Montauk Hwy, so there is a constant sound of traffic in the summer. The traffic can be heard from both the room and the pool.||||POOL: Very lovely. Can hear traffic while resting there though.||||THE OWNERS: They are very friendly, helpful and hands-on couple who seem to on the property most of the time. It feels very much like a guesthouse and not a hotel. I recommend letting them know if you are going to arrive late.||||OVERALL: It was good for a weekend away since we had a car. If you don't have a car, keep in mind that taxis are about $25 to town each way.
My girlfriends and I came across the East Hampton Colonial Inn while desperately trying to find a place to stay (our first place was nasty). Luckily, we came across the East Hampton. While it can be tricky to find (hidden behind those famous Hampton hedges), it's well worth it. Nancy was beyond friendly and accommodating. The place was clean and a breath of fresh air. My girlfriends and I stayed on the 3rd floor. The room was clean and perfect for us. The grounds are lush and beautiful. There is a large pool as well. Great location to boot. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in the Hamptons.
You feel like your going to your friends house for the weekend. Nancy the innkeeper is so nice and welcoming. The grounds are full of pretty flowers and beautifully landscaped. There is a pool as well. My room was nice and clean with a comfy bed. She has lots of magazines to read and coffee and continental breakfast for you in the morning. I highly recommend this inn.
We stayed at EH colonial over the Memorial Day weekend. The room and patio were clean and spacious, the pool area was very pleasant and Nancy is just a wonderful host. Thank you! Look forward to staying here again!
For 3 days in April 2014,five Australian friends, whilst on a US vacation ,travelled from New York to experience the famous "Hamptons".We stayed at Nancy Grigor's,East Hampton Colonial Inn .What a surprise find this spacious and well appointed Inn proved to be.We had the house all to ourselves.Next door is a cosy bar, called "Nichols" which markets itself as the "Cheers of East Hampton".We are breakfast there every day of our stay.||Nancy was the consummate hostess. As well as running the Inn she is the moving force behind "Hamptons Locations",her business which sources locations for photo shoots as well as movie scenes.||Nancy was very generous with her time and showed us around the nearby village.||She pointing out the best celebrity owned estates, the beaches, including Main Beach on the Atlantic Ocean and Hook Pond,as well as taking us to Amagansett ( where she and her husband Michael live on the beach) and onto Montauk to see the sights including the Montauk Point Lighthouse, and the famous "Shagwong"" tavern. ||We dined well at the ""East Hampton Grill"" in Main Street which served classic American food ( try the crab cakes and succotash) in a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Also we enjoyed a Japanese meal at ""Zokkan"" which is just down the highway from the Inn.||All up we had a great time||Richard and Angie Manly,Gordon and Gaye Wallace and Rena Varigos
The Inn was delightful and the "Innkeeper' was very accomodating. We stayed in the Guest Cottage and found it to be immaculate and exteremely comfortable. The proximity to downtown East Hampton and to the beaches were terrific. We are headed to the pool this morning to enjoy the perfectly landscaped grounds and surroundings.
Neighborhood-y gathering spot that almost transplants you to a Fort Greene/Cobble Hill cafe (likely the same crowds). Delicious coffee from Variety and pastries from Pain dâAvignon. Itâs a coffeeshop, general store and also with a shop in the bac
Our first non-home meal in 4 COVID months and we chose Chinese! The phone ordering was pleasant and knowledgeable, the socially distanced pick up was well thought out and efficient. The food was spectacular. We had egg rolls, fried meat dumplings,
5 stars because all of the food was such high quality and super fresh. Ambiance is lovely with nice spacing between tables so you don't feel squished. Our server was delightful and attentive. Honestly my only complaint is the French fries are too thi
