East Chop Lighthouse - Tourist attraction in Vineyard Haven - 229 E Chop Dr, USA

A mile walk along the ocean from the docks in Oak Bluffs, but well worth it. The view and lighthouse are incredible. There are a few benches there, and it would be a nice place for a picnic lunch, though there are no trash cans, so please be sure to take your trash with you as you leave.

Nice bike ride from Oaks Bluff to this cute little lighthouse. We didn't know it until we had already visited, but the street leading up to the lighthouse is the street where Chief Brody and his family lived in the movie Jaws.

Outstanding lighthouse opportunity. East Chop lighthouse, on Telegraph Hill, offers a park like setting complete with grassy grounds, benches and cliff side views. The light is the classic short white, brick lined, cast iron light you think of when you think New England lights. We chose to go to Martha's Vineyard during the off season and while many of the shops and restaurants were closed, there were no crowds to speak of, so we were the only ones on the grounds of the light and had ample, undisturbed time and picture taking opportunity. Lighthouse fans would love going during this time snd taking in what it could have been like, being the light keeper on Telegraph Hill.

When visiting the area, it's highly recommended to stop at each lighthouse along the way as they are truly worth seeing. Not only are they picturesque and visually stunning, but they also provide an enjoyable experience with the added bonus of historical significance. Each lighthouse offers a unique view and a glimpse into its own fascinating history.

We walked here from lower parking. 1.5 miles along North Chop Road which is partially closed to vehicles due to erosion.

So peaceful and quiet. Wish I was able to stay longer. There was plenty of space to sit on benches or grass.

We stumbled upon the light house luckily during the small window it is open. Friendly guides with lots of information. Great sunset views from a tiny, cute lighthouse. Highly recommend!
