Earthworks Cafe & Lounge - Coffee shop in Newark - 325 W Main St, USA

Creative cocktails and delicious food in a really cool space. We've been looking forward to dinner at Earthworks and our experience was fantastic! The bartender stopped by our table several times to check on us and make suggestions. Even though the restaurant was very busy, our meals were delicious and the service was very friendly. The fennel crusted salmon entree was outstanding! I'm excited to try their weekend brunch menu next!

Cool place near downtown Newark. Had weekend brunch and was wss very good. Try the biscuits and gravy or the breakfast burger. It is going to be exciting to watch as this place grows and offers even more to the community.

My mom and I came in for brunch on a Sunday. We were greeted upon walking in. Great service and the food was good too. I got the chicken and waffles with a vanilla iced coffee. Will definitely be back to check put their dinner menu!

In town & wanted to try this new spot. Super nice staff, food came out quick (ordered the gravy & biscuit to go) and my iced latte was delicious! The gravy & biscuit was a great serving. Gravy has a little kick to it but fantastic. Latte didn’t need any flavor, they use quality beans. The space is massive, lots of seating available. Plus covered outdoor seating. I was here around 9:30am so not sure on the afternoon time what it’s like but if you’re coming in for breakfast, it’s nice & quiet. Definitely my new spot in Newark when I come out this way.

Opening morning was a bit rough, but as to be expected. While service was slow, the coffee, biscuits & gravy, and scones were all delicious. The biscuits & gravy were definitely the stars of the morning. The seating is plentiful and it seems like it will be a cool spot to hang out and socialize as they build things out. Once they get the patio to have railing and can open it up they will provide a lot of outdoor seating as well. My only complaint currently is that their music is too loud and positioned directly in seating areas which makes having conversations difficult. Update 11/18/23 8am: Disappointingly does not seem like there has been any improvement from previous experience. Prepared food is not served until 10am despite opening at 8am. Pastry I was served was made on 11/10 according to the date on the bottom, was rock hard and inedible. It was also the ONLY pastry option and the last one unless you wanted pumpkin pie for breakfast. This early in the morning is recommend only coming for coffee, which even that is just okay. Their full menu at other times of the day look good, but have never personally experienced. For now, I think I'm done trying to come here for my morning stop. Rather disappointing, the place seems to have a lot of potential.

Great food, service, and drinks!! Bartenders Emmet & Ian are SO friendly, attentive, and kind! The atmosphere here is also wonderful, I'm so grateful to have somewhere like this locally in Newark. I highly recommend checking it out!! Great place to bring friends and family.

WOW! Dreams came true, y'all! Great food, gorgeously designed environment, kickass coffee, and all within walking distance from my house! We went here for coffee and lunch today. Oh my gosh -- I don't know where to begin. I moved to Newark from Columbus a few years ago, and one of the things I have lined for is a good casual spot that can meet different needs: a place for breakfast, for meeting with a friend, for working with a change of scenery, for a cocktail and people watching. When I lived in German Village in Columbus, I loved Mojoe Lounge for just that. But Earthworks is way bigger and better. I like it more than any coffee shops in central Ohio I've been to, far and away. I can't wait to hear back for dinner or a performance, or just to grab a drink with my boo. Seriously, just such an excellent place, and I'm jazzed to become a frequent patron.

I’m local to the Downtown Newark area and this is a fantastic addition to a blossoming area. They’ve mastered the art of repurposing a once industrial space into a welcoming lounge. The mix of industrial (brick & beams) with the modern art decor gives this space plenty of life. With ample seating and open spaces, the area doesn’t feel crowded. The seating is a mix of barstools, comfortable seats, and couches. They play mellow alternative music in the midst of coffee shop noises (grinders, glass mugs clinking, etc). They best part is how impressed I am with their service! My wife and I have been greeted immediately upon arrival and provided service within seconds of walking in. The coffee (both hot and iced) has been FANTASTIC! They grind and brew their own coffee inside the location, which is an added touch in my opinion. Very pleased to have this location in Newark!
