Tried the blue marked trail and came to the side of the mountain fairly quickly into the hike. There are ropes to help. It is rocky the majority of the hike. Worked great for a walking stick.
It was a cool crisp day with blue skies and a subtle cold breeze, perfect for a short hike around the summit.
Loved these trails, it was beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. It also had very well maintained hiking trails. They are a pretty short distance and good for novice hikers.
We hiked the white and blue blazed trails. They have a few monuments and interesting things to read about the area and the Cherokee Indians living their in the past.
Beautiful views and nice drive along the mountain ridge to get here. There are multiple trails and multiple viewing platforms.
I mean, it's gorgeous. Always has been. Especially if you manage to go up during the weekend and there aren't 19 tour groups Walking in circles around the summit. Lots of fresh air and sunlight, Relatively quiet with the exception of the occasional helicopter, several little historical markers all over the place... genuinely relaxing and fairly pristine. Depending on where you start your hike, it can take 30 minutes or a couple of hours to reach the top... But a beautiful respite from city and even suburban life. Bring water and sun screen.
Beautiful spot trails are beautiful.
Trails area easy to follow, white, blue, or yellow trails. Just follow the color ticket attached to trees. Walked yellow, than blue trail. In certain spots there are ropes to hold on to.
Wear hiking boots/shoes with good treads. Nice spots to sit and just enjoy nature also great viewing platforms.
We saw some white tail deer on our hike.
If you do visit please please do not leave trash or graffiti anything it's so clean and pristine the way nature should be.
My wife and I came here for a picnic lunch. It was fantastic. You are at the crest of the mountain so you can take a short walk and see the incredible views in every direction and it was so quiet and peaceful. There are great viewing decks for north, south, east and west views. There is also a picnic deck that would seat at least 18 people. It also has an incredible view. This was well worth the drive. I will come back to hike the trails as soon as I can.
This is a great hike! Just difficult enough to get your heart rate pumping. It’s well shaded so you stay cooler and the views are amazing. You can easily see downtown Atlanta!! Dogs welcome. Great for enjoying the outdoors!!
My daughter and I came here to relax for a few days during our Christmas break. It was a gift I had given to her for working so hard in college, and it turned out to be the BEST gift. We stayed in the Gibbs Garden Suite. It was incredible. The breakf
Great hiking trail. The 2 mile trail is awesome. Beware, though it is only fun if you are conditioned for hiking steep inclines, for there are some strenuous stretches on the return hike.
