I LOVED the many displays and touchable info. They were very specific to the park nature. Reading them before hiking helped make the hike better. A pleasant surprise was finish our hike just time for a wild food presentation. Thanjs!!!
Incredible views and a pristine environment. This place is like straight out of a NatGeo nature documentary.
We went on a Sunday so the visitor center was closed but the nature area and hikes are still open to the visitors.
You can drive up to the visitor center, hike here and continue down towards Chugach State Park.
These areas are remote and frequented by bears 🐻 and mooses 🫎 so be careful and vigilant while on the trails.
Beautiful in the summer and fall for walks and hikes!
Those looking for a nice place to cross country ski look elsewhere! The trail isn't really groomed like advertised as it's more a single multiuse trail that's compacted into ice and uneven. If going to the yurts in the winter beware the wood provided was wet cottonwood. We had to refuel the stove every 2 hours, even with it on low, and the next day ran into a couple that left in the night since they couldn't get warm in their yurt.
Enjoyed the short nature trails and magnificent scenery at this nature center. We visited in early June on a pretty Sunday evening. Trails were very easy to negotiate- not muddy. Didn’t see any significant wildlife but did see a brown bear and her young one along the road less than a mile or so when leaving the area.
Beautiful!!! We walked the Rodak Nature Trail…stunning views; easy walk…be prepared for mosquitoes!
Hiked the dew lake loop trail and it was gorgeous if a little cold. Dressed properly it was no issue. The one moose we came across barely deigned to notice us. Though a firearm is never a bad thing to bring along...
This place is beautiful. It's an easy small trail hike around that is family friendly. I do say that lightly as there are bears and other wild life around so do be prepared for any unannounced visitors. But other than that it's a really scenic place perfect to get away and enjoy nature. The trail is free just pay for parking which is 5 dollars for a regular car. Do be sure to being a pen to write on the envelope.
*Really* great nature center! Well-maintained trails, beautifully diverse and pristine landscape, and really nice yurts peppered throughout. Highly recommend!

The hike up the mountain was strenuous at times. The path along the side before you finally reach the top is not for the faint of heart. One missed step or vertigo will send you down the mountain with no stopping for a thousand feet. At the top...exh
Great porter with vanilla taste. Wine selection is small but quenching. Delicious beer along with the nachos from the food truck with extra spicy sauce. Yummy. Go early to get a seat.
Awesome place, came in for the first time yesterday to meet a friend. Drove from mid town Anchorage today for the customer service, coffee, and quiche!
Maddie's personality, friendly customer centric focus is beyond reproach. She made me feel like
