Nice regional airport with public bus service to Avon and Vail for only #3. Runs every hour. Only complaint is this airport is so far away from Avon, Beaver Creek, and Vail. Bus ride to Avon is 46 minutes and more than 20 miles. 😕
I'd like to take a moment to thank the staff of lost and found and the Airport Operations Manager at the Eagle Airport for assisting me on a very busy holiday weekend. I thought I left my purse at the airport. I received a quick response to my lost and found request and received follow up phone calls. I found my purse at a near by restaurant we visited but they went above and beyond to help me. Thank you ! The airport itself is beautiful and operated with ease at ticket counters and security. Colorado has so much to offer and my family will use that airport again with its convenience and close proximity to mountain activities.
Too small for the size flights they have departing from here. Passengers waiting for their planes have extremely limited seating while there seems to be a great opportunity to add more chairs. Luggage seems to be a struggle as they have several flights showing up at the same time causing the luggage return to be either completely packed or completely empty. EAT before coming here. You’re at the mercy of vending machines (of which the card reader wasn’t even working on when we were there) or a small little cafe upstairs. The line for that was insane. There’s a small store outside of gate 7, but they have only a few drinks and some Nature Valley granola bars. Otherwise, it’s very clean and modern. Very convenient in getting to Vail.
Great airport to fly into if you are headed to one of the Colorado ski resort towns around Vail. Small and easy to navigate but still sparkling clean and quaint. I got in around 8 p.m. and found it quite difficult to get an Uber to my final destination, which was about 30 miles away, and no shuttles were running at that time. There are taxi services in the area and rental car companies at the airport. So just make sure to plan in advance for transportation from the airport to your final destination. One bonus is there is a Costco down the road a mile or two.
This is a good, small, and efficient airport not far from the Vail ski resort. The airport seemed clean, the TSA process was quick, and my flight was on time. There’s also plenty of transportation options to Vail and the other local ski resorts. There’s nothing more you could ask for. I’d definitely recommend flying into Eagle County Regional Airport.
This airport cannot handle the peak winter volumes. Half the time there’s no gate available when landing. Plan on waiting an hour for the bags. One time they just didn’t plow the runway early enough and our incoming plane was diverted to Denver. Any major delays and the airport runs out of food, seats, and outlets!
Where else in the world do you have gorgeous views of the Rockies, cocktails, and comfy leather seats to settle in, as you wait at one of the 7 gates (that are spotless) to depart or arrive from another destination other than Vail's Eagle Valley Airport (EGE)!
Very nice and clean. Security is efficient and smooth. This is a very small “regional” airport so not a lot of things to do while waiting, but the views are pretty spectacular so it was easy to pass the time.
