While exploring the Carmel shopping mall, we discovered a place that specializes in crafting freshly made donuts with unique flavors. These donuts have a distinctive, slightly chewy texture that pleasantly surprised us, leaving us eager to revisit the spot.
Just wanted to share a discovery I made last weekend in Carmel By The Sea. From the moment you place an order at Dutch Door Donuts, they hand cut the dough then deep fry it, then glaze the donuts, and put on high quality toppings. They have classic Cafe Du Monde-style beignets and donuts. I’ve had some of the most highly regarded donuts in the US: Blue Star, Voodoo, Side Car. I can confidently say that the donuts at Dutch Door are the best I’ve ever had. The freshness and quality of the ingredients really shine through with each bite. Highly recommended.
We try donuts everywhere we travel and were super excited about this place. They did not disappoint! I didn't realize they make donuts fresh and to-order. So even if you go there later in the day, you don't get the dried out donuts in the case, and you have the same selection all day long. Beignets were great as well!

Man oh man! Went here on a whim! My brother and I were blown away! The freshly made donuts were out of this world! Crispy, hot and their glazes are fantastic! Personally the almond horchata was my favorite! But that raspberry lemon one was a close second! Their coffee was good as well! Definitely coming back here if I ever come back to California! Also the staff were super courteous!
