Duquesne University - Private university in Pittsburgh - 600 Forbes Ave, USA

We went for a campus tour today and absolutely fell in love with the campus. We are from the Pittsburgh area and I never expected the campus to be as big and charming as it is. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and the student:teacher ratio (14:1) with an average class size of 28 was a major bonus. The dorms are 2 bed frames with a desk and closet for each roommate with 2 drawers under the bed as well. They're spacious and clean. They have an amazing 4 floor workout building with every piece of equipment you could ever need! It truly is a hidden gem right in the downtown area. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city but still close enough to enjoy downtown amenities. I don't see how any other college could top this!!

We went to a fundraiser for Best Buddies and had a good time. The speakers were awesome the student Buddies did a great job.

Parking is available. The buildings are nice but drab. The view towards the river is beautiful. Very nice location to visit if you are interested in their programs. Good

A good university to get a degree plus being in downtown Pittsburgh is nice to get around.

Nice campus full of activity and students. It is on a hill so be prepared because it's a lot of uphill travel. Don't worry you will get used to it and it is great exercise if you're going to be there. Close to downtown and Oakland social activities. Bus travel is great to go both places.

Massive red flag that they are involving PARENTS so much in the application process. my CHILD is applying. not me. leave me alone. thank you.

My son goes here. It’s a beautiful campus. My son loves it. He doesn’t say anything negative about it. I give it 4 stars because of the housing/dorms. The University tells “pay early in advance” and you can pick where you want to dorm. We did that (months in advance). They constantly send you emails, texts and mail stating deadlines so that you have first dibs at housing. That is FALSE information. They want your money basically.. My son was surprised as well as he was excited to pick the dorm he wanted for his freshman year only to find out that the campus picked it out for him. Now he picked the dormitory that has its own kitchen and bathroom and was telling his friends and family how cool it’s gonna be for his sophomore year. FALSE INFO! It’s a lottery they say and of course he didn’t get that one either. I was extremely heartbroken for him as he is far from home, made the Dean’s list and just plain old great student. I really only want to give this 1 star cause how dishonest they are with housing. I do like the campus, food and other aspects of it and of course my son likes it too and that is why I chose not to give it only one. I pray that this will change.
