Dunn's River Jamaican Restaurant - Jamaican restaurant in Hartford - 2996 Main St, USA

This area has quite a bit of amazing Jamaican food and Dunn’s River was quite good. I got their large oxtail cup, their small jerk chicken meal, fried tilapia, fried dumplings, and breadfruit. The oxtail was cooked nice and tender but not as well seasoned as some of the other places around. Jerk chicken was also not as seasoned as those around but was still great. Fried tilapia was fried well and seasoned well but just good. The fried dumpling though was the best I’ve ever had (or perhaps because I air fried for a few minutes to reheat), would recommend. This was my first time trying breadfruit and for those who have not yet tried it, I would 10/10 recommend. Taste and texture was interesting and definitely worth trying. Kind of potato like yet bread like at the same time like jackfruit texture. Pairs great with proteins like any carb. Value was great, low price, great portions, like the other Jamaican restaurants around.

Amazing dishes every time. If you want a home cooked meal this is the place. It feels like your mom or grandma cooked dinner. Tasty, large portions, filled with fresh veggies and Amazing meat.

Love their food and service. But lately my favorite dish haven't been coming out right. I order pepper steak white peas and rice, the container had more carrots then meat and most of the carrots was still hard 🤦🏾‍♂️. I stopped going here before because the pepper steak was a Lil too sweet.

One of the best Jamaican spot in the city!!!!! Everything they make be on point. From the curry 🐐 to the curry chicken to the oxtail to jerk wings peppa steak Roti. Everything is wonderful here. The food 10 out of ten 10 customer services 10...... S/O 2 the Entire staff at dunz river definition appreciate yall. I see yall again tomorrow. &day after that & the day after that.....& the day after that.

The food was AMAZING!!!! IF YOU HAVE A TASTE FOR JAMAICAN FOOD THIS RIGHT HERE IS IT!!!! and the service was great she was good and because i was doing DoorDash, she had my order be done quickly to deliver the customers 😁

My Lyft driver recommend this place instead of the Jamaican place I picked out. He was convincing enough to make an Impromptu destination change and I was not disappointed. This was THE BEST CURRY GOAT I have ever tasted but the real showstopper was the RICE AND PEAS which ARE PHENOMENAL. I will be thinking about that plate of food for the rest of my life.

Food excellent. Stopped by here on the way to the beach from Albany NY. When I tell you the prices food and service was great it was great. Will be stopping by on the way home for some more curry chicken roti and dumplings. I would add a photo but I ate it already. Thank you .
