Dunmire's Bar & Grill - Restaurant in Brainerd - 12110 MN-210, USA

Welp, I picked this place because the Google reviews made it look promising and they did not disappoint. From the cheese curds to the prime rib marsala pasta to the Aunt Barb burger and fries, we enjoyed it all. The portions were generous.

We really love Dunmire's, but we prefer the one on Hwy 210 over the Dunmire's On The Lake on Hwy 371 heading towards Nisswa. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable and the service is always top notch. The creativity of their food is amazing. Their appetizers are incredible. The menu is HUGE. Almost too large because it makes the decision very difficult. Lots of appetizers, dinners, entrees, burgers, sandwiches. All of which have so many options. You won't find frozen, processed or canned ingredients either. Everything appears to be scratch-made. More on that later. My wife and I love appetizers, and Dunmire's does not dissappoint. Today we had the dill dip. It is a cream cheese-based dip, with dill and dill pickles in it served with Ritz-style crackers and Pita points. We really loved it. Today I had the Horseshoe Burger, shown in my photos. I gave the food four stars for creativity, but the fifth star I held back for one reason: execution. The ONLY problem I have with Dunmire's is they develop a unique original twist to an otherwise hum-drum dish to make it incredible, but they have a tendency to go overboard. I noticed this with my cheeseburger meatloaf earlier this year. In the case of the Horseshoe Burger it was the cheese sauce. Don't expect a canned nacho cheese sauce poured over the burger, no sir. It is cheese sauce of their own making, and boy you better like cheese. It appeared to be a bleu cheese-based sauce, which was good. But the strength and amount over-powered everything on the plate rather than complimenting it. I could taste nothing else and part way through became very tired of it. As the cheese cooled, it got thick and pasty and lost its appeal. Still, I hold Dunmire's in high regard and will continue to make the 110 mile drive to eat there. Go there, do your best to select an amazing dish from the extensive menu while you enjoy an appetizer.

I have to say this is my most favorite place to eat in the Brainerd Lakes area. We go nearly once a week because not only is the food delicious, but the bar service is great and the prices are in line with the quality and quantity of food given in each order. I love how you can tell the servers enjoy what they do because they smile and greet us with a friendly, "Hello" upon entry. Before we leave they thank us for our business and invite us to come back. We usually have food left over to take home, and I love their corn bread and honey butter. It's to die for, seriously.

My boyfriend and I went to this place. It was pretty slow. I ordered the Walleye dinner and he ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo. My food wasn't so bad, except I requested no tomato and pesto paste, which I got anyway. I found it to be off-putting on the Walleye. I also had to specially request it to be fried. My boyfriend's Alfredo was basically just cream sauce and noodles, not much of any flavoring or seasoning. The chicken he got on top was dry and tough. The service was pretty bad too, we were not ever checked on and it took a very long time to receive and pay our bill, despite there being almost no one there. Overall, the service and quality of this place absolutely does not match the price. Also, the online menu and in-person menu were different, both in price and items.

Great spot! I had stopped for a quick lunch. Fast and friendly service! I had a patty melt with deep-fried pickles. Delicious! Will definitely go back.

Food was delicious and service was friendly and speedy. Only downside was that the burger was over cooked and on the dry side. Buffalo mac and cheese was amazing. The cornbread was like a desert but I chose to order the chocolate lava cake as well. Sooo good. Atmosphere was great as well.

We went for dinner Saturday night. Everything was fantastic. I had prime rib and it was up there with the best I've ever had. Others in our group had lobster bisque and the roasted chicken. Everyone was very happy with their meal. I've tried the prime rib at a few other places nearby and was not very happy with it.

Fun place for family and friends. Music from the bar, kids laughter and adults busy watching football and playing pull-tabs. Food served in generous portions (maybe share a dish) and is delicious. I had about a lb or more of Parmesan Crusted Walleye and hubby had pot roast.
