Super fun adventure. Make sure to bring water and wear sunscreen! This is not an easy hike and the trail is not marked in anyway. You have to go up and down several steep dunes. You can easily get lost in the dunes and the trees. I would definitely come here to explore again. People on the trail were very friendly and amused, equally exhausted from sludging through sand. There was a lot of laughter. No facilities or amenities. I saw several people turn around at different points and choose not to finish the trail because of how strenuous it was. Be careful, my friends!

The dunes are amazing and challenging. The shacks are spread out, and the distance between the dunes is deceiving to the eye.

We only went up and down the first 2 dunes and you could see the beautiful ocean line. It was a 0.7 mile hike there and back from the 2nd dune, about 30 minutes with some brief breaks.

I’m mixed. It’s like saying these are the best sugar free gummy bears I’ve ever had. Amazing scenery. A mile hike to the beach. And horrible walking through deep soft sand. But amazing scenery. Not easy. Dunes are unique. I gave it a one star because I wanted to see the ocean, and each huge steep hill on the way crushed me. I won’t do it again, but….those gummies

Beautiful trail. Never did a hike in sand dunes before. Challenging, but the short length and mildly-cold weather made it manageable. Was not crowded at all in mid-March on a Monday.

Great hike and when u finally get to the water it’s so worth it. We did it in April on a beautiful day and it’s was like 60 maybe 75 degrees. We were just trying to imagine how much it felt like we were totally in a desert. In summer on a super hot day be weary who u take that maybe should be I. The hot sun hiking up and down hills of pure 6+ inches of sand. It’s kinda tough walking in deep sand up hill never mind when it’s 90+. I was thinking so many people must start the hike which is about a mile but it’s up and down and around and get 1/2 way and totally need a ambulance so. Don’t take grandma unless she’s in good shape. And bring drinks. Have fun. Highly recommend. Changes up the same old same old things we do every summer. Wife said I’m gonna kill u for bring me out here. But once we got there have was happy. Just park right i. The side of the road I will see other cars pretty much all the time

Amazing trail! Right off the road, trailhead is easy to miss if you aren’t looking. We went about an hour before sunset and enjoyed the changing sky and cooler temps on the out and back trail (roughly 1 mile each way). Pretty strenuous and mostly all on sand, so definitely take some caution before deciding to do the trail. Definitely worth it though for the surreal setting and beautiful views.

Beautiful scenic hike through the cape dunes ending at a quiet and lovely beach. Be forewarned, there is no shade, and it is two miles round trip over very soft sand and surprisingly steep dunes. Wear sunscreen and bring a water bottle, it's a much more challenging hike than it looks on a map!

Lovely B&B in a great location. Somehow manages to avoid the stuffy feel of many B&Bs while maintaining the coziness. Worth staying off season just for the fireplace! And you can’t complain about breakfast being dropped at your door every morning.
