Duke's Grill - American restaurant in Monroe - 1114 Concord Ave, USA

I went here for breakfast recently and it was so good I ended up going back for lunch! This place is awesome and anytime I’m in town I will try my best to get food from here. Great atmosphere!!

We stopped by in Duke's Grill accidentally early morning. Surprisingly, they were opened! Thank God he brought us to this place!! It's really nice place for breakfast. Very friendly and polite stuff, thanks them for the food and great service! The food was very tasty, fresh and superbly cooked. My girls liked their pancakes! We ordered a lot of food and paid for like two servings!! Definitely recommended this place!

I am amazed that it was so crowded, and yet food ca me way faster than I thought it was. I was floored that there was only one person at the grill, and he's a burger making machine. The staff and their service were great. The food was extremely good, and the burgers' patties are the size that burgers sound be. Thank you for giving my son and I a great experience, just the 2 of us without phone calls,no texts, and no distraction. Just a boy sitting down with dad, enjoying a great meal. The only surprise of the experience is when we went to put some salt on the fries. And man, does that salt shaker work well! Thanks again for the food and the memories.

I was traveling through Monroe for work and I always like to look for lunch spots that people like. In my search I came across Dukes. It was close and the first picture I saw looked like an awesome hamburger. So, I called in and order and headed to pick it up. Pulling in the parking lot is a free for all. For someone with OCD it would most likely drive them crazy. I found it interesting and fun. I went in and everyone was smiling, receptive and quick to help. Handing me a bag and I drink I walked back to my knowing Was carrying something good by the weight and smell coming from the bag. I found another local parking lot that was empty and pulled out one of the most beautiful burgers I have ever seen. Heavy and busting to get out of the paper wrapper. I got the Double Cheeseburger all the way as recommend on a review. Folks this burger was thick and meaty. The condiments were there to accentuate the burger not dominate it. The taste was pure heaven. If you are a carnivore this is your place to come. It was two hamburger steak patties on a bun. Without a doubt this was in the top 3 burgers I have ever eaten. And I have eaten them across the country. Someone else's review now comes to mind. It read if you are within 100 miles you need to come here. I second that statement emphatically. It's simple and inexpensive. But it's a burger mans dream!

You cannot go wrong with Duke's, there is a reason this is George Motz has rated their Slaw Burger as his pick for best burger in NC. The service here is always fantastic. The burgers are always fresh and incredibly good. If you are within 100 miles of Monroe make sure you stop by Duke's.

My favorite hole in the wall place! Love the burgers, I eat them like real southerner now…. Cheeseburger all the way with slaw and chili. Always hits the spot when I’m in the mood for a burger!

I have been going to Duke's Grill since the 80's. At that time and several years after you could eat lunch there and would be so delicious and couldn't eat again for the rest of the day. Now the burgers are so small . Better off going to Burger King. So sad because they used to be the best burgers. Stop shrinking the food and not the price. Do not recommend anymore. Will miss the way they used to make their food.Mike Reedy would be saddened as well. He loved Duke's!

Food and service are great how ever there cell ph policy socks. I don't know another restaurant in town that tells there customers they can't be on there phone, face facts most people who eat there are blue collar and we all are working even during our lunch break. I like eating there but often choose other places so that I don't have to go outside for important calls, the policy is ridiculous for people with responsibilitys!!!
