Great breakfast buffet for $25 per person from 7-11am. My family of 5 made reservations for a Saturday for 9am and we still waited for 30 mins before we actually sat down. Another day the three of us came around 10am and sat down right away. The buffet has fried rice, egg benedicts, scrambled eggs, sausages, banana pancakes with coconut sauce, cinnamon french toast, bacon, pastries and all kinds of fruits. It's so worth it for the papaya and pineapple alone.
I have eaten at Dukes over 50 times and always thoroughly enjoyed it and it’s one of the highlights of our annual vacation to Hawaii.
However, since covid things have changed noticeably.
1) prices have gone through the roof
2) Quality and has declined as has the serving sizes.
3) Salad bar has gone from being fantastic and full of variety but is now boring and average in quality.
4) Value for money is just not there anymore. In fact it is an overpriced average bar style meal.
5) Service was fantastic and has always been so.
We ate the Mahi x 2, 2 x salad bar, 1x bottle of Pinot Noir and 1 x Hula pie.
The fish was dry and the serving size was tiny compared to the past.
The rice was really just a poor imitation of fried rice and the Hula pie was just plain old bland and tasteless.
This came to$200USD but when converted to AUD it came to $330 plus tip.
In Australia, that is fine dining pricing but this in no way represents fine dining.
Even the USD cost in Australia we would get substantially higher grade ding than here.
We left VERY underwhelmed and seriously disappointed and after many visits to Dukes, we have decided that we will not be returning.
We feel really sad because as I said earlier, we always looked forward to eating there in fact for our usual 10 day vacation, we usually eat the 3-4 times. Last night was out first of the 3 booked but we have cancelled the other two.
The views were nice but the food was just ok. I'm not sure why this place is so highly sought after, but I can only chalk it up to good marketing. Either way the waiter was really good. I asked for an assessment of the meal I ordered and he gave an honest answer which turned out to be true so salute to the waiter for being honest with me. If you just want to go here because lots of people have gone then by all means go, but the hype and the food will not match up.
Awesome beachfront bar and restaurant! Draws a huge crowd. The bar area has open seating so you just need to keep an eye on who's leaving. Good food, the drinks were ok. Prices were reasonable except for the cosmopolitan which was $15.
Duke’s serves the best and most potent Mai Tais in Waikiki. They have great fresh seafood and don’t leave until you have their Hula Pie. It’s made with creamy macadamia nut ice cream and slathered in hot fudge sauce, then sprinkled with chopped nuts. Soooooo good!!!!!
The ambience was awesome, with great live music, but the food was just slightly above average. The highlight of the meal for both of us was the salad bar. It was $7 to add it to the meal and it was amazing, with lots of variety. If I were to return, I would order just the salad bar.
Our server was friendly, but possibly new. She didn't bring a steak knife for my wife's teriyaki sirloin, and she took a very long time to open and pour the champagne.
A great place, great menu and great service. The views out to the water we good, but book in advance to get a good seat.
I had the prime rib which was the best I've had.
Definitely worth a visit
A must when visiting Kauai! The atmosphere, the food and the service were all excellent. Salad bar was so good I took my steak home, which was delicious. Hula pie was plenty for hubby & I to share. I hope to go back again some day.

Shoot was - as expected - amazing. Stunning mastery of technique, patter, and showmanship. Hilarious sense of humour, was great at working the crowd and had a lot of warmth and heart incorporated into his performance, and the story he told throughout

I have been searching and searching for great biscuits and gravy like I used to get back in Texas, and OMG these were so so so so much better than that. Did something different and went with the chicken biscuits and gravy and was happily surprised at
