Really great shady trail down to a scenic beach! We were very surprised that this park is not rated higher. We had spent 6 days on Whidbey Island, bought the annual pass and had visited one to two state parks a day. We like shady trails and beach access, the Deception Point, South Whidbey And Dugualla were our favorites!
I love this place because there is hardly anyone ever there. While it seems small, there are plenty of trails to hike. I can easily get 5 to 10 miles in and never cross the same path. There’s a quiet beach here. Even though it’s right out of town it has a thick dense forest feel.
Only found on map, no road-side sign or directions to this delightful, quiet and wide, well maintained trail system. Some very large trees and many species of native plants. One trail does go to the salt water and others are fairly flat. Parking is just the wide area at the road.
Nice and quiet hiking trail. No pass required to park. They have a few trails to walk. One leads to the beach. Some hills to walk but nothing to crazy. Kid and pet friendly. Will go again.
Beautifully maintained. View of Mt. Baker is stunning on a clear day!
Beautiful 4 mile loop with beach access. My car and two others broken into and trashed. Sadly I won't be back unless I get someone to shuttle me in! Guess crime is a reoccurring there. Beautiful park though.
Great hike. All the trails were muddy naturally, so wear appropriate footwear. The beach trail was great until the very last 100 feet to the actual beach, the small hill was too muddy and steep to get down, let alone up. The map on Deception Pass state parks website is somewhat innacurate, there is a clean trail at the loop in the north trail that meets the beach trail near the big tree. Wasn't a problem, just fun to explore.
Dugualla State Park is a nice hidden gem on the island. Amazing trails and scenery. My family and I loved hiking this place. We walked about 5 miles and hiked all around the perimeter. So gorgeous and peaceful out here. Only trails out here so don't expect much else. The scenery will not disappoint. Lots of hills and greenery. Walking your dog or getting your kids out is perfect for this place. I would highly recommend.

Great campground if you are new to camping or if it's you 100th time. Facilities are great. Bathrooms are large and cleaned daily. Has laundry room with sink. Hiking trails and beach right in front of the camping sites. Also very very affordable.
This is my new favorite coffee shop in Oak Harbor. The service is friendly and outstanding, and the coffee is divine. I love that the final product is stirred really well -- no fancy latte art -- just great coffee. Get it 'bold' or 'smooth' depend
