Dugan's Pub - Pub in Brevard - 29 W French Broad St UNIT 101, USA

Came in at 8ish with my 2 year old excited about trying their shepherds pie. Started off weird bc the hostess wouldn't seat us outside or in the dining room, no she sat us right next to the bar. Fine whatever still no after asking even though others were sitting outside and in the other room. My son desperately needed to be in a highchair but we were next to the bar so that couldn't really happen bc no walking room and someone could've elbowed him. But all that's whatever. It was the shepherds pie in here for. We sat there for an hour waiting on our food finally we asked for it to go after our appetizer and I took my son outside to wait bc he couldn't maintain much longer. So after all this time they waited to tell my husband THERE WERE NO MASHED POTATOES ON THE SHEPHERDS PIE when they brought the food in boxes... NO POTATOES IN A SHEPHERDS PIE IS LIKE SPAGHETTI WITHOUT NOODLES!!!! Potatoes is what makes a shepherds pie past ground beef slop with veggies. But they did sprinkle some cheese on so it was a perfectly encase congealed mess that essentially looked like canned dog food. Very appetizing for $60 right?! But they offered sweet potato fries and some weird little onion green beans and bacon bits lol. Which is sweet considering I went out of my way to make sure the shepherds pie didn't have onions. They looked perfect to go with the slop in the box. My guy was so confused when they brought it and flustered after waiting so long he just agreed and took it instead of asking to have it removed from our bill or a partial charge or a dessert or something so I didn't just pay $60 for 2 waters, a cornona, a $15 Reuben and some waffle fries with queso and bacon. Very disappointed bc the queso fries were great and my guy said the Reuben was the best he'd ever had. I was going to make this my spot in Brevard now. I wanted to try everything on the menu which is rare for me. The prices were reasonable. The ambiance of the place was beautiful with gorgeous ceiling tiles. The outside seating area that people were in when we left was lovely, my son would've loved it. Updated: to say I heated it up in a bowl this am to see if I was being crazy but no still just weird slops

We sat in Notre Dame corner. Wonderful fish & chips. We shared a 3 piece dinner. Our server was less then friendly.

Hannah was a great bartender. Friendly and attentive. The food took a while, but the fresh chips were worth the wait. Nice patio if you want a smoke with your beer. I would go again, but next time I'll order the rueben!

Really enjoyed Dugan's. The food was great. We ate at the bar and our bartender was very nice. Only complaints are that they use a pony to measure out drinks. I always get a stingy vibe from that. The prices aren't exactly low on the scotch, so the laser measurements always seems tacky to me. They closed very early too. Closing a pub at 9PM? We barely had time to get there and eat before they closed. Outside of that, the food was great, the service good, and the ambiance appealing. Gravy for the shepherd's pie was real tasty. Wings were good. Waffle fries were really good. Most importantly the Guinness was fresh.

It was our first visit to Dugan's after spending a 4 day weekend in Sapphire. When we walked in it didnt seem so impressive. It looked like a typical bar , we were famished and unprepared to be blown away by incredible service and delicious food!Kelly provided the best service and food recommendations! All were spot on, and delicious! We ordered onion rings (fantastic and house made) , cheese curds , and buffalo wings for appetizers. For our entrees we ordered the fish and chips, burger steak, 3 cowboy burgers, and a mushroom burger. The crafted beers were wonderful! Definitely a must visit when we make our annual visit to the area! Kelly is definitely an asset to this establishment and made our dining experience absolutely awesome !

Was sat immediately, waited 30+ minutes for a server, was ignored for three other tables and never got served. Even requested drinks after 20 minutes, hostess left to get someone who still never came by. It then took another 10 minutes to get a manager to say she was the waitress too amd forgot. Horrible staff, used to be excellent. Visit here from Texas every year and won't be returning to this establishment.

We used our GPS to find Dugan's Pub since we were not familiar with the area. We went right by it. We called our friends for guidance, and they helped us find them and the Pub. It was dark! That's how we missed it. We were seated by a friendly host. He impressed us with a book he had on his podium. We all love readers! We got the corner booth, which was roomy & comfortable. We looked over the double sided menus as we waited for someone to take our orders. Mason was our server in training with a regular who didn't give her name or I didn't hear it. Husband and I had the cheeseburgers with lettuce & mayonnaise. Husband had the huge, crispy waffle fries & I had small cup of coleslaw. One friend had the chicken sandwich with coleslaw (we both avoid fried foods), and her husband had fish'n'chips with coleslaw & fries. Only Husband had a drink - ice tea. Three of us had water. The drinks came quickly, and the hot food was delivered as soon as it was ready. The food was good. We liked the pub atmosphere & decor. Our friends had been here before & recommended it for its food & casual ambiance. When we visit them & Brevard, we might come back to try other entrees since the prices were reasonable and the staff was great!

The experience here was good! Server was very attentive and always kept up on everything we needed. I ordered a French dip sandwich and it wasn't great. The roast beef had really been cooked through and was too done. It was just dry. The au juice was salty beyond belief. Everything else was so extremely salty. It was kind of hard to eat it. The beers were priced well and had a big selection of drinks to make up for it! I'll try something else next time I go. I also tried corned beef so the Ruben will be my next choice. I should have went with my gut.
